I’ve only ever heard the name on The [name_f]Nanny[/name_f], but I recently visited [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] and LOVED it. Since so many place names are taken over by girls, ([name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], [name_f]Ravenna[/name_f], [name_u]Paris[/name_u], [name_u]London[/name_u], ect.), I really like [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] on a boy. What do you think?
Well…the only [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] I’ve ever known was a girl, so I associate it with being more feminine. Sorry.
I struggle to see it as a name, we have a little [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] in our state and it’s a bit of a hick town. It’s pretty much just has a McDonalds, petrol station, and a bakery.
I began liking [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] as a girls’ name, but just recently, it began to grow on me as a boys’ name.
I’ve only ever heard this name on a boy in the [name_f]Nanny[/name_f], so I associate it more with a boy than anything. But that aside, I don’t find the name all that appealing. It’s definitely kind of “hoity-toity” for my tastes. And I would never be able to shake the [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] from The [name_f]Nanny[/name_f] association–though I don’t think many people remember that show or that character.
It’s just a place to me.
I don’t think it makes a nice given name at all.
Fine as a place name, and I love [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] in [name_f]England[/name_f], but as a human name it’s a huge NO from me.
It is a handsome name for a BOY.
I’m also familiar with [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] [name_m]Sheffield[/name_m] from The [name_f]Nanny[/name_f].
I don’t think the name suits a girl, at all.
No go for me, gives me the vibe of a prep school boy with a cocky attitude. Also, most of all makes me think of a toothpaste brand.
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] is the name of a not so hot area of where I live, I think I would always associate it with that.
My sons name is [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]. I obviously love it and get lots of compliments on it. He has beautiful blue eyes and a huge bright smile and the name really suits him.
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] isn’t my style but it’s a name that I like more on a boy.
