I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] (I would personally prefer [name_u]Camille[/name_u], which is similar), but [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] sounds great! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] would also be lovely!
Oh, I loooove [name_f]Carmella[/name_f]! I knew a [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] when I was younger, and I remember thinking it was the most beautiful name I had ever heard!
[name_f]Carmella[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is so pretty and sweet!! It flows nicely too. [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Mella[/name_f] are also adorable nicknames
I really love the name [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] (which is a wonderful name and there is nothing wrong with it, this is just my personal opinion) just reminds me of the word carmelized.
I think it’s beautiful and intriguing! [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] is a wonderful name - it’s very unusual, yet familiar and easy to spell/pronounce. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is lovely too.
I absolutely love it. It’s sweet and soft but also strong. I love [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and especially the more unique [name_f]Mella[/name_f]!
One note: Carmella does make me think of The Sopranos, although she spells it Carmela. I don’t personally think this is a bad thing, I personally love the show and I think Carmela Soprano’s an interesting and sympathetic character, but it is a pretty strong pop cultural association.
That’s true…thanks for the heads up about the potential Soprano’s reference! It’s helpful to anticipate things like that ahead of time for sure! Luckily, we don’t mind since [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] was my grandmother’s name and has special meaning behind it.
I like it! It does very much scream caramel to me so I expect any nickname to be in relation to that but I don’t think that’s necessarily a deal breaker.
Carmella [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a beautiful name! [name_u]Unique[/name_u], feminine, fresh and sweet. The names flow well together and I love the meaning behind your choice. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]/Lucia [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] would be a nice alternative if you’re not sure about the flow of [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (or [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]/Luzia).
In my head, I imagine [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] to be a person with a warm, caring and amicable personality. And at the same time, the elegant and melodic name [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] reminds me of the adventurous and charming character [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Pevensie[/name_u]!
Thanks so much! We would definitely keep [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] as it is without using a variation since that was my grandmother’s name, but I also loveeee [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and it’s been on my short list.
I’ve never really considered [name_f]Carmella[/name_f]. I think I like it, [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is an attractive nickname and one that can grow with the child. I also like [name_f]Mella[/name_f], [name_u]Mel[/name_u], and [name_f]Mellie[/name_f] as nn options. I sort of feel like a longer form of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] might be better, [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], or maybe [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f].
