I love it. Classic, noble sounding, something he can grow into. It’s not exceptionally overused in my area either.
Really like [name_m]Charles[/name_m] - feels dark, handsome, and sort of elegantly mysterious. Not a fan of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] though, it feels much more common and not half as interesting.
I like it! I think [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] chips away at [name_m]Charles[/name_m]’ appeal though. They feel completely different to me. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] feels boyish and plucky. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is elegant and serious.
It’s nice! I really love the name [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] too, even more than [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. It feels like it could be a standalone.
I love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] way more than I love [name_m]Charles[/name_m], but [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is fine. It’s a handsome classic name that will suit a boy or man of any disposition. For me it falls in the category of ‘wouldn’t name my personal child this, but totally support it on someone else’s kid’.
I like [name_m]Charles[/name_m] but don’t love it! It’s a nice name and has a fair sound. I definitely think a modern nickname makes it much more bearable. I like [name_m]Hale[/name_m] as a nickname more than [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].
I love [name_m]Charles[/name_m], obviously! My son was named after my late father, but [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is not just an honor name, it’s a name I adore. Classic with many historical role models. Right now my son is [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], but later he can go by the more formal and “serious” [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. (Actually we do call him [name_m]Charles[/name_m] a fair bit already, and he’s convinced right now that his full name is Charlesbear, haha!) I’ve met a few other little Charlies over the past couple of years; the name is not too popular but is very much on trend where I live (NYC).
It’s okay. I think that I’d like to meet a [name_m]Charles[/name_m] more than another -aiden name, but something about this name sounds a bit stuffy to me. Literally. Whenever I hear someone say this name, it sounds like they have a stuffy nose and that’s hard for me to shake. Weird, I know, but that’s my honest feeling on it. Now I will say that I adore [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and think it helps level the name out greatly.
Although I understand the attraction of [name_m]Charles[/name_m], I am not a fan. It is soooo over used.
