I love the name [name_f]Constance[/name_f] and it has special meaning to me from childhood so it feels especially positive. I never thought of it as very wearable when I was young, but now it feels kind of timely & right! What are everyone’s thoughts on [name_f]Constance[/name_f]? It should be noted that a little old-fashioned cantankerousness is fine with me!
So, my husband has a male family member who goes by Kostia exclusively, full name, [name_u]Konstantin[/name_u]. Does this make it strange for me to consider using [name_f]Constance[/name_f], as the name wouldn’t be chosen to honor Kostia. Would people assume a connection? Does nn [name_u]Connie[/name_u] separate the 2 names well enough? Is [name_u]Connie[/name_u] too unfashionable? Is [name_f]Coco[/name_f] too try-hard?
[name_f]Constance[/name_f] sounds kind of uptight to me and I like word names when I like what they represent (the quality of “constance” doesn’t strike me as a particularly important one for a person to have) so I don’t really care for [name_f]Constance[/name_f], especially with the nn [name_u]Connie[/name_u] which just sounds very middle-aged and unappealing to me I love the Italian version [name_f]Constanza[/name_f] (nn Stanzi?) though! I don’t think the [name_u]Konstantin[/name_u]/[name_f]Constance[/name_f] relation is a problem. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] does seem pretty try-hard to me, but I think it works.
Thanks for the feedback! I guess I think of [name_f]Constance[/name_f] as persistence & conviction when it comes to what it represents as a word name. It’s the only virtue name aside from Merit that I actually like. I really like your list and for me [name_f]Betty[/name_f] & [name_u]Connie[/name_u] kind of have a similar appeal of uncool/cool and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] & [name_f]Constance[/name_f] are not that dissimilar. It’s funny how someone with some of the same likes as you could dislike another you like so much but I am glad to hear that Kostia & [name_f]Constance[/name_f] are not too alike in your opinion!
