Thoughts on Cullen?

Thoughts on [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] for a girl?
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I love surnames as first names, nature names and gender neutral names and so this seems to check all three boxes, but I was wondering if it’s too masculine. I think the len- ending sounds soft enough, like [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], but I can only find it to being used for boys.
Also wondering what you’d pair with it. We love traditional middle names, as well as double middle names if you have any ideas for us. Thanks!

I too like surnames and unisex names for girls! I also have a very unisex name (think [name_m]Swift[/name_m]) and I’ve always liked it!

I’d assume [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] was a boy but then again I have known girl Coopers and [name_u]Collins[/name_u] and Connors so I think it works! I slightly prefer [name_u]Callan[/name_u] in general.

I’d definitely opt for a decidedly feminine middle…maybe like [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_u]June[/name_u], or [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] Mae/May.

Sorry, but I’m uncomfortable with the word cull and it stands out for me in [name_m]Cullen[/name_m]. It usually means to reduce an animal herd by killing. I do like [name_u]Callen[/name_u] and [name_u]Collins[/name_u] though if they may be an option.

No need to apologize  I want other perspectives, so thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree the word cull is unpleasant.

Thank you! I agree, a feminine middle name would be the way to go. I love [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. Such a pretty flow.

Yeah this was my first thought too, and then my second thought the ‘Twilight’ series which may or may not be something that bothers you

I like the suggestion of Callan. Id also suggest: Kellen, Curran, Camden, Carlin, Carson

Very masculine and very [name_u]Twilight[/name_u]. Maybe you like [name_u]Collins[/name_u]? [name_u]Ive[/name_u] also heard of [name_m]Cully[/name_m] for a girl and got used to it  She was a sweet character in Midsomer Murders.

It does make me think of [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] and culling which I’m not sure I love. But it is kind of cool too and I do like the similar [name_u]Collins[/name_u] so I don’t think it’s unusable.

Some middle name ideas: [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]

[name_u]Tully[/name_u], [name_m]Tallis[/name_m], [name_u]Olsen[/name_u], [name_u]Channing[/name_u], [name_f]Corliss[/name_f] and [name_u]Kerrigan[/name_u] came to mind as similar options if you wanted them

I mean, it can work, but I prefer this name on men, boys or masc-aligned people.

I think Cullene might work better if it feels too masc for you? But on a girl it is cute and nice now that I think of it

I’m not a fan.

[name_m]Cullen[/name_m] [name_u]Nova[/name_u] [name_u]Blake[/name_u]

I think it could definitely work as a name for a boy or a girl, but the connotations towards twilight and the word cull are just a little negative for me. I do think [name_u]Collins[/name_u] or even [name_u]Callan[/name_u] are better options personally but if you’re just wondering if it’s feminine enough then it 100% is
