I’d love to hear your thoughts on the name. I recently found out Dafina was the name of my Great Grandmother and now have a bit of a sweet spot for it. I am not sure if I love it yet however and would love to hear what you think of it!

It’s interesting, seems like a mix of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Delfina[/name_f].

I think it’s pretty. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is the nickname potential of [name_u]Daffy[/name_u], which is a bit like daft, so I think I would put it in the middle spot. I really don’t know why some names get shortened to a nickname while others don’t …

Hi! While Dafina may not be my taste (I would more likely go with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] or Delaphine, which just so happens to be my great-great aunt’s name!), I love reusing family names! I would end up calling her [name_f]Fina[/name_f] in some capacity, but if it is a name you love, go for it.

@WhiteGardenia Thank you! I am a lover of nicknames, so they are a must for me. I’m sure I’d love the challenge of finding a better one haha! I do like the name Dafina but I am more leaning it towards it as a middle, I agree with you and think it would fit much better. I so appreciate you commenting!
@skylerros [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is sweet! I find it interesting how both Dafina and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] essentially share the same meaning. It’s definitely a way to honour the name. Thank you!

@Grandidieramy It’s truly not my style either, but there’s something about it I really love. [name_f]Fina[/name_f] is such a sweet nickname, thank you for the suggestion! Honouring family names is lovely and Delaphine is beyond beautiful!

Oh, it’s actually quite sweet! It does remind me of [name_f]Delfina[/name_f], but I actually prefer the whimsier sound of Dafina. Nickname [name_f]Fina[/name_f] would just be the icing on the cake!

I actually find it quite beautiful! I think I’d like it better spelled Daphina. Being Italian, I usually prefer fs over phs but in this case, I sort of love it as almost a variation of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] (not sure if it is?). I actually like it much more than [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] reminds me more of [name_u]Daffy[/name_u]. Daphina has more elegance to it in my opinion. So pretty!!
