Thoughts on Dahlia and Dominique

What do you think? Any nn ideas? I love this one, but I worry what it would be like on an adult.

Dahlia is gorgeous for all ages!

I don’t care for [name_u]Dominique[/name_u].

Dominique feels dated to me. I love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] though! It’s fresh and fun. Names age as people do so [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] will be perfect on an adult.

I love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] - elegant and sophisticated

I really like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]. It’s beautiful and I can see it ageing well. [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] is a lovely name too, though I’ve met a [name_f]Dominika[/name_f] (dom-i-NEE-ka), which I prefer the sound of.

Nicknames could by [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] or [name_f]Lia[/name_f] for [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nika[/name_f] for [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]. [name_f]Deedee[/name_f] would work for both.

I think [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is timeless given the it’s the name of a flower! It’s on my list as an honor which I love! I also love [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] a lot, I think they make for a nice set given how even though their the same letter, they are distinct

I LOVE [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]! It’s my top name. It ages well and is just so cute. I’m not so fond of [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] for the same reasons others have said, but it’s a fine name.

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is so pretty! [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] is nice, but a little dated.

I like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] pronounced Dah-lee-ah (I think it can also be pronounced [name_u]Day[/name_u]-lee-ah)
The name cascades so nicely and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] could be a cute nickname!
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u] is alright, but like @choupette I prefer [name_f]Dominika[/name_f] which flows a bit better for my ears.

Dahlia is lovely and has a beautiful imagery

I love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], and actually know someone named that. However, [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] reminds me of [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], which is a guy’s name, and I know a guy named [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], so it kinda gives me guy vibes.

I really like both names! I love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] has been growing on me ([name_f]Monique[/name_f] was a favorite a while back). I don’t think they’d work as a sibset but both are totally usable to me. If I had to pick one, I’d pick [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] (nn Dali or [name_f]Lia[/name_f]) every time, but [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Nica[/name_f] or [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]) is pretty too.

Dahlia is very pretty! It’s spunky and gorgeous.

Dominique isn’t my cup of tea.

Dominique is lovely. It’s my grandmother’s maiden name.

Dahlia has been growing on me since seeing it on NB.

I want to like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] but the association with the [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is WAY too strong for me to ever consider using it.

I won’t comment on [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] because the one person I knew with that name left me with a very negative association, so I can’t be unbiased.

I really like [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]. [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] has different pronunciations and feels too fussy to me.
