Thoughts on Daisy?

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] has been high on my list since reading and watching [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m] and the Six.

I like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (both honor names for mn), but I worry [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] sounds a too southern, double-barrel name if that makes sense? What do you like as a mn for [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this name would age poorly?

Side note…this name may be unusable for me because I also have flower first name. Is that weird?

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is cute! Unfortunately it’s a dog name to me because of a personal association, but I think she’s lovely for others :blossom: I do see what you mean about [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], I get the same vibe from it. I like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] more, she feels more mature! I’d also like her with a longer middle name - I’m not sure what your style is, but something along the lines of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], etcetera could work nicely!

I don’t think it’d age poorly at all. It’s just outside the US top 100 and in the top 50 of [name_u]England[/name_u], [name_u]Scotland[/name_u], Australia and [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_u]Zealand[/name_u], I’m sure a little [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] wouldn’t feel childish at all when there’s so many others her age! I know many adults with cute-sounding names who wear them just fine.

People may assume that you used the name [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] on purpose to have a link between your name and hers, but as long as that doesn’t bother you, I don’t think it’s a big deal or something to worry about!

I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]! It’s cute but also sturdy and reminds me of The Great [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but I would agree that it does feel like a double-barrel. But that isn’t really a problem, it definitely is a strong name! I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] will age well - many other “cutesy” names have, such as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], and [name_f]Millie[/name_f].

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is charming - I’ve met a number of Daisys in their twenties and in their teens, so a young [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] will grow up with older Daisys too

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is sweet and solid; [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is balanced and charming!

For [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], I like the middle:

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Abilene[/name_u]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]

I think two flower names is a sweet connection, and since [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is so name-y, as is your name (if it’s the one in your username), so I think it would be fine

I don’t think sharing a flower name would make it unusable. You might feel a bit locked into the theme but if you don’t make a big deal out the matching then I don’t think any non-flower sisters would feel left out.
I like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. Its a bit on the cute side but not so much so that it wouldn’t work on an adult especially when looking at how many other short and sweet names are popular at the moment. I do see what you mean about [name_f]Kate[/name_f], maybe a longer variation of [name_f]Kate[/name_f] to still get the honor and make the combo a little less cutesy? [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] Katherine/Kathryn, [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], etc. I do really like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
Other ideas:
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is sweet. It’s a little more juvenile than other flower names but at the same time, it won’t age too badly. I can see it on an adult and older woman. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is a good combo. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is sweet but reminds me of daisy chain, with the daisy -ay- sounds).

I can’t see how having a flower name affects your children having flower names. I’d happily have the name [name_f]Unice[/name_f] for myself and it’s similar to my mothers name (making a subtle honor).

(Please tell me if I’m using the word juvenile in the wrong way. I’m using it to mean young/youthful).

I recently met a [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] in her late forties to mid fifties and it was absolutely lovely on her. She happened to be very glamorous, in spite of the unflattering uniforms we were wearing, and very articulate and insightful during the training we attended together. I’m a firm believer in any name for any person when it comes to personality and things like occupation
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is sweet but I love the different style of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] with [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. Here’s some ideas for middles that I hope compliment [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]:

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Leonore[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u]

I like @sammaegre’s idea of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], then you could use [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] as her nickname?
