Thoughts on Damiana?

This is a relatively new name to my list and I’m still deciding whether it will have a permanent place or not. I have a sentimental attachment to the name [name_m]Damon[/name_m] / [name_m]Damiano[/name_m] and I figured [name_f]Damiana[/name_f] would, in a way, honor it.

What do you think?

I actually love this name. Total GP for me. But theres a Crazy strong warrior girl whose associated with my dojo. She fights Muay Thai and is total badass. [name_m]Ive[/name_m] loved it ever since. You’re attachment to it makes it even more meaningful. I say go for it!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there!

Im so sorry to say that I’m not a fan of this name… When I read the subject of your post the first thing that popped into my head was the word “dementia” which is ridiculous, I know, since they’re clearly different words, but something about they way the look when read just made me think that. Good luck!!

Well everyone has their opinions lol, no idea how you got dementia from [name_f]Damiana[/name_f] though. I’ve never had anyone suggest that association. They neither sound nor look anything alike. I think maybe you’re confusing it with [name_f]Demetria[/name_f].

It’s probably my own dementia from being 9 months pregnant lol

I was skimming the subject lines and you know how sometimes you “read” words without actually reading them, it’s more of a glance and a word registers in your mind… That’s what happened. I’ve actually never heard of the names [name_f]Damiana[/name_f] or [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] (I live in the Northeast US) so it’s probably just a lack of familiarity for me. Definitely feel free to disregard my thoughts on the matter!!!

I love how strong and fierce [name_f]Damiana[/name_f] sounds. It sounds very Italian or Greek. I picture a really strong yet feminine girl with this name. It’s a great honor name for [name_m]Damon[/name_m]/[name_m]Damiano[/name_m]!
