Thoughts on Dante?

For our baby boy we’ve selected name [name_m]Dante[/name_m] till now, is it a good name? What’re your thoughts?
We also love [name_u]French[/name_u], Spanish names that are unique, modern with good meaning and no religious meaning, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Dante is amazing! I think of [name_m]Dante[/name_m] Basco, one of my favorite actors.

I love Spanish and [name_u]French[/name_u] names! Spanish is my first language and I find [name_u]French[/name_u] to be similar to Spanish (in writing not speech :joy:)

I love the name [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] and have it on my list! Something about it makes me love it so much and it reminds me of a more masculine [name_m]Dante[/name_m]! I also really love [name_m]Claudio[/name_m] and [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], and if you prefer shorter names than I love [name_u]Gael[/name_u] :heartbeat::heartbeat:

It reminds me of [name_m]Dante[/name_m]’s Inferno, which might be too religious if you don’t want any religious connotations. If that doesn’t bother you, go for it!

Love it! It’s on our list but I don’t think we will ever use it. I’m an [name_f]English[/name_f] teacher and my husband teaches history so it feels a little on the nose for us. :joy:

It would seem on the nose to your compatriots, but a lot of people won’t even get it.

I like it. It sounds slightly preppy to me, but I like those names so no problem hahaha.

Duarte, [name_m]Bosco[/name_m] and [name_m]Polo[/name_m] give me the same vibe!

As an adult, I think of [name_m]Dante[/name_m]’s Inferno. But as a child, I went to school with a boy named [name_m]Dante[/name_m] and never thought twice about it

My first association is the movie [name_m]Dante[/name_m]’s [name_m]Peak[/name_m]. I think it has a bit of a religious meaning with [name_m]Dante[/name_m]’s Inferno, but it’s a darker meaning, perhaps? (which I prefer over super bright meanings, especially religious ones, but that’s just my opinion). I really like this name and think it’s very handsome!

Dante’s Inferno.
And the [name_m]Count[/name_m] of [name_m]Monte[/name_m] Cristo.

Those are my two associations.
I think it’s a mighty,heavy/big name for,a,kid.
