Hello! I’m really loving the name [name_f]Dove[/name_f] lately for baby girl!
I think the sound is pretty, I love the peaceful associations, and I also love the scriptural significance of doves and their association to the [name_f]Holy[/name_f] [name_f]Spirit[/name_f].
However…
I know some people will think of
- [name_f]Dove[/name_f] soap
- [name_f]Dove[/name_f] chocolate
- [name_f]Dove[/name_f] [name_m]Cameron[/name_m]
Are the associations too strong to use the name?

[name_f]Dove[/name_f] is lovely - gentle and peaceful with a bit of sass too!
In terms of associations, I know of [name_f]Dove[/name_f] [name_m]Cameron[/name_m] and [name_f]Dove[/name_f] soap but I wouldn’t assume anyone using [name_f]Dove[/name_f] had those in mind when naming their child, and I’d consider them neutral associations? I’d most likely think immediately of the bird tbh.
The chocolate is sold under a different name where I am, so I can’t comment on how strong that association might be with people.
[name_f]Dove[/name_f] is super lovely! I like it a lot. It’s soft and sweet. I prefer it as a middle name, but it’s lovely in general. If you are hesitant about those associations, there’s always [name_f]Doveva[/name_f] (which could give you [name_f]Dove[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], or [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] as nicknames, too!) but I don’t see any issue with just [name_f]Dove[/name_f]. It’s a lovely name. I think of the birds and the [name_f]Holy[/name_f] [name_f]Spirit[/name_f] long before I think of [name_f]Dove[/name_f] soap or chocolate (and I didn’t know who [name_f]Dove[/name_f] [name_m]Cameron[/name_m] was).
Good luck!
The first thing I think of is still the bird.
I like [name_f]Dove[/name_f], one of my favorite combos is [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Dove[/name_f].
Yeah, I think of the bird before the other things
