Thoughts on Elessar Flynn?

Thoughts on Elessar [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]. Im thinking possibly the nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]… if it could work.

I love [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], such a lovely middle!
Its flow as a combo sounds really good too
I’m not sure about Elessar though
[name_m]Ive[/name_m] got no idea how to pronounce it (im guessing el-eh-ssahr but not sure, it coud be el-ee-ssahr or something completely different), it sounds kinda feminine to me and too much for a baby boy
If you still want to name your son that then I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] could work as a nickname, even though its a bit of a stretch

Elessar was one of Aragorns names, from [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings. Its pronounced like [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]-er or somewhat similar to [name_m]Eleazer[/name_m].

I love [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]. I do not recall ever hearing the name Elessar. I personally would not use it but I think the combo flows very well. I love the nickname possibility of [name_u]Ellis[/name_u].

I like it! I think Elessar works because of the similarity to [name_m]Eliezer[/name_m].

Handsome!!!

I really like Elessar, and Elessar [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] is a handsome combination.

I think it’s a very handsome combination! I got the reference to Aragorn from LOTR right away but it’s very subtle. I like it!

As a fan of LOTR, I think this is awesome (got the reference immediately). I like the balance between the fantastical Elessar and the laid-back [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]

I didn’t know the reference but love Elessar and [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] has always been a favourite of mine. They sound great together! [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] would make a cute nn too!

I too have considered [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings names, but have had a hard time finding anything that isn’t too associated with the trilogy or too out there. Elessar is a name only Tolkien fans would probably recognize from LOTR and it is similar to names getting more popular like [name_m]Eliezer[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], etc. I do think that if you choose this name, you should be prepared to have to repeat it and spell it frequently. If that doesn’t bother you, then go for it! Another LOTR name that might be usable for a boy is [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though this is a female character, I think it could be similar enough to [name_m]Irwin[/name_m] that it wouldn’t be too unusual.

I’ve only ever heard Elessar pronounced [name_f]EL[/name_f]-les-SAHR, with almost an accent on both the first and the last syllables, not anything like [name_m]Eleazer[/name_m]. So, based on the way I’ve heard it pronounced I would say it’s not one I’d use. I love LOTR, in particular Aragorn, but I am not one for using fantasy names, especially ones from a very recognizable fantasy series, for children. To me, this name does not roll off the tongue well. I also think unless you have a British accent or something similar ie not American it just doesn’t sound right. (I don’t know where you’re from…if you happen to have an accent, this wouldn’t be as much of an issue, but to my American ear, the name doesn’t sound very good) If you want a more obscure name from LOTR, I might suggest Eldarion or Elladan. I think they’re both more wearable than Elessar.

I like the name [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]. I think it sounds bizarre with Elessar, though. They clash to me, but that could be because I can’t see Elessar as a name for a child.

I really like it, the flow is spot on imo… Didn’t initially realize the LOTR connection, so it is subtle enough to be usable, I think.

I love it! I hadn’t made the connection to LOTR, but the books are high on my list of things to read in the next several years (sadly, way too many books are that high on the list lol!). I think Elessar is unique and usable, and [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] pairs with it so well. I love the possibility of [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] as a nn, too, maybe? I adore [name_u]Ellis[/name_u].

Good luck!
