Thoughts on Ember?

Hubby is really liking this name. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Would love to hear some outside opinions

I like [name_u]Ember[/name_u] and adore the combo [name_u]Ember[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Most people will probably hear it as “[name_f]Amber[/name_f]”, but then again, most people are stupid.

I always liked it esp compared to amber - but id always get odd looks if I memtioned it… I like the little fire connection like ember ashes ect

There are more interesting objects on which to base a child’s name. It doesn’t sound bad, but you can’t really expect everybody to divorce the name from its meaning.

I see the appeal, but I don’t really like it. Sorry! It is a bit too trendy and it reminds me of [name_f]Amber[/name_f], which I don’t like.

I love [name_u]Ember[/name_u]! It’s a little too close to [name_f]Amber[/name_f] for me to ever want to use it as a first name, but I do love it!

I prefer Emberley (children’s illustrator)

It’s not for me. It sounds like [name_f]Amber[/name_f], which feels a bit 90s to me and along the lines of [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] or [name_f]Heather[/name_f] vibe-wise…nature names that don’t feel quite ready to come back around. But [name_u]Ember[/name_u] also makes me think of [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and of [name_f]Em[/name_f]- names like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] which feels very 2013 but not in a way that especially excites me. I see the appeal, but it’s not for me.

I like it, and I considered it for a little while, but I decided that a fire ember wasn’t inspiring enough for my child’s name. I would enjoy meeting someone else’s child with the name, though.

I like [name_u]Ember[/name_u], but I don’t love it. I’d be happy to meet a little one named that, though.
