Thoughts on Emmauelle

What do you think of [name]Emmanuelle[/name]?
Too prissy and fairy or strong and out there?

I think [name]Emmanuelle[/name] is quite pretty. It’s a nice feminine variation of a boys name

I really like [name]Emmanuelle[/name]. I think it’s beautiful with a great meaning. Strong but elegant.

I love it!

I love [name]Emmanuelle[/name] too! I have been thinking about it a lot recently because of the egg baby post - my “baby” in the seventh grade was [name]Emmanuelle[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and I just thought it was the prettiest name ever. I still think it’s quite beautiful  I don’t think it’s outlandish or prissy at all and actually blends in with the [name]Emma[/name]'s, [name]Emmeline[/name]'s, and [name]Elle[/name]'s/[name]Ella[/name]'s. I do find [name]Emmanuelle[/name] more hefty than these names, but I personally think that’s a good thing.

Beautiful but not frilly.

[name]Emmanuelle[/name] simply feels beautiful and strong to me. I associate it very much with French leading ladies [name]Emmanuelle[/name] Béart, [name]Emmanuelle[/name] [name]Riva[/name] and [name]Emmanuelle[/name] Seigner. All absolutely stunning and smart women.

Does everyone pronounce [name]Emmanuelle[/name] differently than [name]Emmanuel[/name]? Because all I hear is [name]Emmanuel[/name], which is obviously a boy’s name. Maybe it’s the Spanish speaker in me? I say these exactly the same way… It is a beautiful name though.

I love it! As you can see from my signature, [name]Emmanuelle[/name] is one of my favourites.

The pronunciation is sort of like Eh-ma-NUELLE, so kind of 3.5 syllables. It’s very different from the English pronunciation of [name]Emmanuel[/name] (Ee-[name]MAN[/name]-u-el), but similar to the Spanish pronunciation. I think the difference is you stretch out the [name]ELLE[/name] a little longer in French, but then my Spanish isn’t great so I may be wrong!

I think it’s lovely! NNs could be either [name]Emmy[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name] (or [name]Manny[/name] but that’s not a good idea). And yeah, [name]Emmanuelle[/name] is pronounced the same as [name]Emmanuel[/name] in Spanish, just like [name]Daniel[/name] and [name]Danielle[/name] and [name]Gabriel[/name] and [name]Gabrielle[/name] are pronouced the same (girl name pronounced the same as the Spanish boy name). But unless you come in contact with only Spanish-speakers, I wouldn’t consider that a detriment.
