Thoughts on Evanie?

How do you pronounce this name?

I would pronounce it Ev-uh-nee.

Ev-in-ee. Prefer [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]/Evangelina “Evanie”. It seems quite nickname-y & informal.

Same as @new.romantic!

I’ve never heard of this before, it’s quite pretty.

Ev-annie is my first thought for pronunciation. It’s cute though!

I would pronounce it like [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] with a V sound instead of a B. So EV-uh-nee. I think it sounds cute, and it’s different without being strange.

eh-VAN-ee or eh-VAHN-ee. I know someone named [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] and she goes by [name_f]Vonnie[/name_f] which this reminds me of somewhat.

I personally prefer Evalie or Ellavie :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I would probably say “ev-uh-nee” - literally [name_u]Evan[/name_u] with an -ee suffix. It’s not my favourite and not my style, but I do see the appeal, I suppose. I met a toddler named [name_f]Evonnie[/name_f] once, and I would tend towards that, feeling a little more substantial, and less prone to confusion (I could see Evanie being read as eh-vain-ee).

I prefer [name_u]Evan[/name_u] or [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], but I see the appeal! I would also pronounce it like [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] with a V.

Eh-vuh-nee. It reminds me of the [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name [name_f]Avani[/name_f] (uh-vuh-nee)

I say it like [name_u]Evan[/name_u]-ee. I prefer the [name_f]Evony[/name_f] spelling because it looks less like a nickname.

I like Evanie though I prefer the Evannie spelling.

I’d pronoucne it Eh-var-nee

I pronounce it like [name_u]Evan[/name_u]-ee, but could see people thinking it is eh-VON-ee.

I think it is light and unexpected, and I like the sound! It reminds me of [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. Though I do think it could be misheard as [name_f]Ebony[/name_f].
