Hey berries! Since seeing the name on a list of unique names I am crushing on [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] (pronounced like [name_u]Piper[/name_u]). What are your thoughts? Is it too unusual to be usable? Would people pronounce it like FIFA (fee-fa)? Given my husband is a huge football fan would we get this comment too much?
Other girl names I like that I think follow the same vibe are [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Winslet[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f].
Thanks! x
I don’t love [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] (or [name_u]Piper[/name_u] really!) but I think it’s perfectly usable, just not my cup of tea! I can’t see it being confused regularly for FIFA, to be perfectly honest, and it fits nicely with [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] particularly on your list!
I’ve loved [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] for a long time! I’m curious to hear others opinions about it too so thanks for starting this thread haha
I also love [name_f]Winslet[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] on your list
I agree that [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] is perfectly usable. I enjoy its energy and spunk, although it’s not my personal style. It is a nice alternative to [name_u]Piper[/name_u], but I think how it will be pronounced depends on where you are. Maybe try the Starbucks test?
I love [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] - it’s so cheery and distinctive
A friend of the family named their kid [name_u]Fifer[/name_u]. Its definitely different and unique, but still usable.
It only makes me think of a military flute player though.
It’s not my style but I think it’s quite lovely. It has a similar boyish, outdoorsy Celtic feel to [name_u]Wylie[/name_u], [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_f]Greer[/name_f] to me.
In the UK I’d be worried about the similarity to the word ‘fiver’ like a £5 note but elsewhere it would obviously not be a problem.
I love [name_u]Fifer[/name_u]. It definitely fits in with other popular -er names for girls atm. A few years ago I posted about this name and got quite a lot of negative comments, but I think she’s really cute.
