Thoughts on Freddie?

I’ve always liked [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] but worry that it’s very popular. [name_m]How[/name_m] popular is it where you live?

I don’t believe I know anyone named [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]! In terms of popularity, [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] reached its peak in the 30’s and 40’s in the US and has dropped considerably since then; in 2015 it was hardly even in the top 1000 baby names at #990 (spelled ‘[name_u]Freddy[/name_u]’). So, I don’t know where you live, but here in the US I think a little [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] running around on the playground would be adorably refreshing! Good luck

I’m in Australia and I guess we have quite a British influence so there are quite a few [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]'s and [name_m]Archie[/name_m]'s running around!

I’m in the UK, and I’ve only ever met one [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] and he was about 4 years old. I love the name - I think it’s adorable

I don’t know any [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]'s. I know one [name_m]Fred[/name_m] who’s in his thirties, but that’s it. Popularity is not an issue for [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] I think.

I know a few Freddies, but their names are short for [name_m]Frederic[/name_m] (which ages well).

I think [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] is getting really popular in the UK - I’m pretty sure its in the top 20 - but isn’t really as popular in other countries.

I like [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] a lot, it remins me of [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] [name_u]Mercury[/name_u]. I have never met anyone with this name here in Europe.
