Thoughts on friends' names, AR newspaper article

[name]Just[/name] some Sat. morning thoughts here!
[name]Just[/name] heard of a slew of friends who just had baby girls or are about to. These are the names, if you’re interested!

Kynleigh [name]Elise[/name] (not my business, but wish it had been spelled [name]Kenley[/name]; I would have like it much better)

[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Michal[/name], new little sister to [name]Naomi[/name] (grandpa’s name is [name]Michael[/name], so I’m assuming [name]Michal[/name] is after him; like)

[name]Riley[/name] [name]June[/name], little sister to [name]Miller[/name] (boy); half sister to [name]Reagan[/name] [name]Mackenzie[/name] (situation: my male cousin got a girl pregnant and she named the baby [name]Reagan[/name]; less than a year later, he had another girl preg and married her, they had [name]Miller[/name] and now they have [name]Riley[/name]; I was surprised the wife chose [name]Riley[/name], with it being so stylistically similar to [name]Reagan[/name]–they don’t like the babymama, so I just thought it was surprising. Maybe im just reading too much into it)

[name]Emma[/name] [name]Kate[/name]: cute; I would’ve preferred [name]Emma[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]; I know it’s popular but I love [name]Emma[/name]

[name]Ella[/name]: I like it but prefer [name]Emma[/name]. I think she’s being named after a grandpa [name]Ellis[/name], so I’m just glad they’re going with [name]Ella[/name] and not [name]Ellis[/name] for their girl…personal taste thing.

Also, did anyone in Arkansas happen to see that naming article in the Democrat Gazette paper on Wed. about naming kids? I loved it, but was disappointed the family’s daughter’s name was [name]Madison[/name]–nothing wrong with that name, just not super interesting! The writer also seemed to think that old lady names were sooo out and not coming back…I thought, “She needs to get on nameberry, and maybe get out a little more too!” hah!

Oh, another random thought. I have been reading this girl’s blog all summer, and just yesterday discovered her children’s names: [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Alexis[/name]. Yep, nn [name]Alex[/name] and [name]Lexi[/name]. Really? I just don’t even know what to say.

I like [name]Emma[/name] [name]Kate[/name] a lot! It’s more refreshing than [name]Emma[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] imo. [name]Ella[/name] is okay, I love [name]Olivia[/name], and the middle name [name]Elise[/name].
The rest are eurgh. Especially that [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Alexis[/name] thing, but I can understand it. I adore [name]Alex[/name] name, adore. And I was so tempted to do [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Alexia[/name], or [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Alessandra[/name]. But alas, I’ve decided to leave [name]Alexander[/name] in the middle spot.

I’m glad you rethought the matchy name thing, ha! I really wish some other Arkansan had read that newspaper article and wanted to discuss. It was so interesting (minus the whole [name]Madison[/name] thing).
