I love the [name]Gwen[/name] names, but [name]Gwyneth[/name] is too tied to Gwyenth Paltrow for my taste, and although I love [name]Gwendolen[/name], it’s a bit princessy, and I’d like to avoid that.
What do you think of Gwennan? It’s a legit Welsh name and spelling, and I think it might be perfect.

I like the sound but not the way it looks, for some reason. It looks like a smoosh name (even though it is a legitimate name) but I really do like the way it sounds when I say it out loud. And, for me, sound wins out over spelling any day (as a name is said way more often than spelled) so I give it a yes.
I don’t care for it. Despite being legit, it looks made up and the spelling is very busy. To many n’s, I think. Other [name]Gwen[/name] names are a lot prettier.

For what it’s worth, I think [name]Gwen[/name] can stand alone. Gwennan is really nice, and it’s a big plus to me that it’s a legit name and not just a combo of syllables that you threw together. But i have to admit that it feels a little more fantasy-novel that i’d personally feel comfortable using.

I actually like [name]Gwendolyn[/name] the best of your choices. If you can’t do that, I would say [name]Gwen[/name] is a better bet than Gwennan. Also, I knew a woman named Gwenelda… no joke! So there is another contender!
