We already have a daughter - [name]Charlotte[/name] - and we love vintage names. We have come across the name [name]Hazel[/name] but I’m wondering if it would be strange if our daughter didn’t have hazel eyes… maybe i’m over thinking it. Thoughts? And a good middle name?
I don’t think that should matter. Since babies aren’t born with their adult eye color, no one named [name]Hazel[/name] was named with the knowledge she’d have hazel eyes, right? I wouldn’t worry about that, plus I think it’s a good name to go with sister [name]Charlotte[/name].
Definitely overthinking it, your daughter doesn’t have to have hazel eyes to have the name [name]Hazel[/name]. That’s like a child having to have red hair to be named [name]Scarlett[/name]! [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] are gorgeous together.
Nah, I don’t think eye color should have anything to do with it. [name]Beyonce[/name]'s kid doesn’t have blue eyes, and she’s still called [name]Blue[/name]. You can’t be 100% sure of eye color, so if she ends up being a blue-eyed [name]Hazel[/name], I hardly think it will matter. If you love it, use it!
I actually know a couple that just had their first daughter, [name]Charlotte[/name], and the back up names were [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Jayne[/name] (I use this spelling because that’s what they used for her middle name). So I guess they’re a compatible fit!
I agree with above posters, you seem to be over thinking it
I love [name]Hazel[/name] with [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] is my sisters name and [name]Hazel[/name] was on my list but husband vetoed
I’m sorry, but I have never like this name. It always reminds me of the TV show about a busy body maid named [name]Hazel[/name]. Plus, that no talent, over-hyped [name]Julia[/name] [name]Roberts[/name] named one of her kids that. I hate celebrity names.
I like [name]Hazel[/name] as a nature name. I don’t think I’d worry about colour-coordinating it any more than making sure a [name]Rose[/name] was quite pink or a [name]Pearl[/name] very white or black.
