Thoughts on Henry/Harry

[name_m]Harry[/name_m] is one of those names with drastically different popularity in the UK vs US. It’s #775 in the US, but in [name_m]England[/name_m] and [name_m]Wales[/name_m] it’s #20, and that doesn’t include however many Henrys might also go by [name_m]Harry[/name_m] (Henry is #14, actually lower than the US where it’s #5). So take this with a pinch of salt, depending on where you’re based, but to this Britberry [name_m]Harry[/name_m] feels too popular to be tied down to any famous [name_m]Harrys[/name_m] - even [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. I suspect the reason he’s called [name_m]Harry[/name_m] in the first place is because it’s an ‘everyman’ sort of name. It’s too common to be ruined by celebs.

I don’t think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] necessarily needs a nickname, and my favourite one is [name_m]Hal[/name_m] rather than [name_m]Harry[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Harry[/name_m] sounds jaunty and fun. It’s timeless and suits all ages.
