What do you think of the name combination [name_m]Herb[/name_m] [name_m]Irving[/name_m]? Is it cute for a baby?
I really dislike it, sorry. I don’t find it appealing or able to age well. It also sounds like the name of a character. [name_m]Harold[/name_m] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] sounds like a good compromise.
Scrolling through the forums page and skimming the recent threads, I thought this said “herb living”, like someone was asking about living on a diet of just herbs or something. [name_m]Even[/name_m] when reading it the way it’s written, the sound is weird because it repeats and I think [name_m]Herb[/name_m] is a really awkward first name. I’m not a fan of clunky old nickname names for boys in general but I don’t really find this combo appealing. Sorry.
Ya sorry I’m in the same boat.
I think mostly because [name_m]Herb[/name_m] & [name_m]IRV[/name_m] are so similar . I’d loose [name_m]Herb[/name_m]. Or use it as a nickname

I think [name_m]Herb[/name_m]'s really cute, and I love [name_m]Irving[/name_m], but honestly I just don’t like them together.
I think maybe they run on a bit somehow… with [name_m]Herb[/name_m] being a short nick-namey name and ending in a consonant, and then [name_m]Irving[/name_m] starting with a vowel (and ending in ‘ing’ like so many verbs do) it almost makes them feel like one word? Kind of makes me think of ‘herbivore’.
Or maybe it would be better with a slightly more “commonplace” name in there to temper the other two being a bit more unusual?
[name_m]Irving[/name_m] is a cool, unusual middle name, but I dislike [name_m]Herb[/name_m] - it seems clunky to me.
I’m not sure the world is ready for [name_m]Herb[/name_m] to have a comeback–but maybe! It was fashionable 100 years ago. [name_m]Irving[/name_m] is a great middle name!
[name_m]Herbert[/name_m] [name_m]Irving[/name_m] flows a bit better.
I think [name_m]Herb[/name_m] is cute, and it ages well.
I enjoy coming across names that are old fashioned.
[name_m]Herbert[/name_m], nn [name_m]Herb[/name_m] is my favorite.
I agree with most other posters.
I’d pick a more modern middle name for [name_m]Herb[/name_m]. And I’d go for [name_m]Herbert[/name_m] instead of just [name_m]Herb[/name_m]. You can still call him [name_m]Herb[/name_m] but he has the option to go by [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] when he’s older, which is old-fashioned like [name_m]Herb[/name_m] but more vintage than dated.
I prefer [name_m]Herbert[/name_m] too. It’s cute and classic. Can have herb or [name_u]Bert[/name_u] as a nickname which is lovely.
