Thoughts on Hugo?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering what the general consensus is on the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. I think it’s cute for a baby but will grow with him too.

Please let me know what you think?
(His sibling is [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] btw)
:grinning:

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], especially with big brother [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. I don’t think two names starting with the same letter will be strange at all for siblings.

I like the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], I think it works for both boy and man. Not a fan of a sibset [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], though, too repetitive for my tastes.

I think that [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is an adorable name and goes wonderfully with [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] work wonderfully for a little boy and could be pulled off by a man. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is too much of a gem not to use. Go for it!

Not a fan.

I like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and I think the alliteration with [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] is OK. The names have very different sounds and, to me, are of dramatically different styles, so I don’t find them too matchy at all.

[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] strikes me as quite a modern, fashionable choice in line with the surname names for both genders which are popular at the moment, whereas [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] feels like an old-fashioned English aristocrat. I wasn’t sure at first that they “go” together, but actually I really like the contrast here, especially with the “matching” initials!

Im a fan, it feels a bit clunky

Sorry, it wont let me edit my post. I was meant to say I’m not a fan

The name [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] means son of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

I like both names and together they sound nice, but after looking up the meanings, you would essentially be naming both your kids the same name. Which I think lacks in creativity. They are two different people, I think you should find something a bit different.

I love the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], works well for a child and an adult.

This is what I as thinking. I adore [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and think that it is a fantastic name – intelligent, vibrant, and handsome. However, it isn’t really compatible with [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. What about [name_m]Jago[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Cato[/name_u], [name_m]Jethro[/name_m], or [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]?

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is a great choice.

I like it, and prefer it over [name_m]Hugh[/name_m].

When I first heard it (first times I remember were in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] and in the movie [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]) I didn’t like it because I thought it was too clunky and old-fashioned, haha. Well my taste has changed since then and it’s one of my favorites. It’s definitely a name that can grow with a child. However, I wouldn’t use it with [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] for the reasons others have listed. I like the suggestion of [name_m]Milo[/name_m] with [name_u]Hudson[/name_u].

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but if you had a third kid it would sound off if you didn’t give them an H name…

I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is wonderful, I have it both as a first and a middle name on my list. I think it sounds clever and aristocratic yet still approachable and sweet. It’s more youthful and timeless than [name_m]Hugh[/name_m], works well in most languages (I adore the [name_m]German[/name_m] and [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation) and has a slight mischievous touch which I find adorable.
Personally [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] would be too close for me in look and too different in style but if you love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], it’s a truly wonderful name!

I love it! The name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is great and suits all ages.

I really like the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], very handsome!

I love it so much. I’ve loved it since I was a little kid.
