Thoughts on Jagger?

[name_u]Jagger[/name_u] is a name I secretly adore, something about it makes me love it! I don’t think I’ll ever use it however and it’s a shame since I can’t seem to find any names similar! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys think [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] is usable? Or should I scrap it completely! I think if [name_u]Bowie[/name_u] is making it’s way up the list maybe [name_u]Jagger[/name_u]? But similar names different vibes I think, I’m not sure however so what are your opinions?

I wouldn’t use it, but I wouldn’t be shocked to meet a [name_u]Jagger[/name_u], if that makes sense? For me it feels more like [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] than like [name_u]Bowie[/name_u], but I do think it’s useable. I guess my hesitation is only that it would take a confident person to really make it work.

I think [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] is absolutely awesome, as is [name_u]Bowie[/name_u], but that could be due to loving both musicians. I’ve actually seen [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] used quite often so I think it’s definitely useable. [name_f]My[/name_f] one sister is actually friends with a [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] (he’s maybe 25 now). It also sits at #666 on the SSA Top 1000 charts for 2019 as [name_u]Bowie[/name_u] didn’t even rank this year

My friend named her son [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] and he has a brother named [name_u]Hendrix[/name_u]! I really like it. It was also unexpected from her and her husband- they don’t seem like the type to use classic rock honor names at all! But I love how they just went for it and kept with the theme!

So yes I think its usable knowing a [name_u]Jagger[/name_u]. Hes less than a year old so it wears well as a baby name and I think it will get even cuter with age!

Jager shots

I don’t think it is that far fetched to use this as a name - I could see it becoming trendy! I know a couple with a dog named [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] though so I just can’t picture it myself.

He could be a cute little rock star! But I’m personally not a fan. I just don’t like the feel, I guess it sounds kind of harsh to me. Makes me think of jagged maybe?

Jagger is totally usable! It’s not for me, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to meet one.

I kind of like [name_u]Jagger[/name_u]. It is definitely a cool name. The g’s just throw me off. It’s kind of like [name_f]Jinger[/name_f]. It sort of has a harsh sound. However, I do think it is usable and I think it would be awesome to meet a [name_u]Jagger[/name_u]!

I love [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] and think that it’s totally usable. If you decide to go with something else, I think these have similar feel: Yaegar / Yegar or [name_f]Hagar[/name_f].

Personally I don’t really like it when children are named after celebs or musicians

@Sky85 I encounter more [name_u]Bowie[/name_u] than [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] so I’m shocked [name_u]Bowie[/name_u] didn’t even make it on the list :flushed: I see it more often on children and only heard of one [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] (A guilty pleasure of mine is watching Yummy Mummies )

@WriteAway I associate [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] as a “musician inspired name” and since I’m a big fan of [name_m]Mick[/name_m] and [name_m]David[/name_m] I can’t help but connect it. I agree that it reminds me of [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] also! I was gonna mention it but since I don’t really like [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] in the same way I like [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] I left it like that! I think I like the name for the cool rockstar connotation so I’ll probably make a separate post about that to help!

Yes! I know a [name_u]Jagger[/name_u]. I think it’s a great name.

I think in itself it’s a cool, quirky little name. If I met one I wouldn’t be shocked, I would think oh what a cool name, their parents must be Rolling Stones fans.

However, I don’t like that it sounds similar to jagged. It makes me feel kind of squeamish, as I automatically think of a jagged knife. It also looks similar to Jaeger (Jaegermeister) the regretted drink of my uni days. So because of these reasons I would personally save it for a middle name.

Jagger is bold and cool

Not my style but usable. Prefer [name_u]Bowie[/name_u] of the two musician names but agree with people above that I personally wouldn’t name someone after a musician.

Jagger makes me think of other strongly-masculine names like [name_m]Gunner[/name_m], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_u]Archer[/name_u] etc.

Not sure if you mean that you are unsure if the music connection is good or if you are unsure on what the musical connection is. But if you mean that you are unsure on who the name ties to, it is [name_m]Mick[/name_m] [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] of The Rolling Stones, a highly influential rock band

My brother’s middle name is [name_u]Jagger[/name_u]. If you love it, then go for it!

My former classmate (for an advanced degree) is J@eger, pronounced with the J sound, jay-ger. From what I remember when we first met, it was annoying that a lot of people said it with the Y sound, yay-ger, initially (especially teachers). I don’t know what it was like for her as a child, with this name. I never asked. Otherwise, she is a very unique individual, so having a name that no one else has, really fits her, imo.

When I first read [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] I read it as jag-er like a military JAG or how you pronounce [name_m]Mick[/name_m] [name_u]Jagger[/name_u].

I’m a fan of the names [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m], [name_u]Hendrix[/name_u], and [name_m]Zeppelin[/name_m] so I don’t see [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] as unusable. If it were my kid and someone read his name and mispronounced, I would say, “It’s [name_u]Jagger[/name_u], like [name_m]Mick[/name_m] [name_u]Jagger[/name_u].” And I honestly wouldn’t hate that  It’s very charming, imo.

I personally don’t like it because of the association with the singer - he always gave me the creeps :flushed:
