What are your thoughts on [name_m]Julian[/name_m] for a boy? I love it but is it too “soft”? That’s really my only worry about it. And what are some possible nicknames? I like nicknames. Thanks!!
I have a friend with a son called Juilan - I don’t think it sounds soft at all I think its a really strong name! She calls him [name_u]Jules[/name_u] for short which I also love
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! It’s not too soft to me; I personally find it distinguished, regal and timeless. It also travels really well. I love [name_u]Jules[/name_u] or [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for short.
I know a little [name_m]Julian[/name_m], it’s becoming pretty popular I think. They call him JayJay.
I absolutely adore [name_m]Julian[/name_m].
While I don’t think it falls too much into the category of “soft”, I do have to wonder, what’s wrong with a soft name? I think many boys names could use a bit more softness.
I like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] - it has a nice mix of soft and harder sounds.
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] could be another nn
I may be a little biased since [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is one of my top choices for boy names, but I absolutely love it. As previous posters have said, it travels well and has so many nicknames to go with it ([name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Jule[/name_u], [name_u]Jules[/name_u], [name_u]Jay[/name_u], [name_m]Ian[/name_m], etc). I enjoy how classic it sounds, but also that it is fairly uncommon in my area. I chose it mainly as a way to honor my brother whose name is [name_m]Ian[/name_m].
I really like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and don’t find it soft at all. I think it’s an underused classic.
I love [name_m]Julian[/name_m].
Soft names for boys are incredible and my preference. Very underrated, therefore powerful.
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] is a great name!
It’s a nice name that I don’t hear very often
