Thoughts on Kalilah?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] came across this and I love the flow (it sounds so like delilah, but doesn’t have the possible negative connotation), but idk – does it sound a bit made up?

Now I think of it, I’m pretty sure I once liked [name_f]Kalilah[/name_f] many years ago.

It’s so pretty.

Native US (midwest dialect here) and I would naturally say this as Ka-Lee-La before Ka-Lie-Lah just an FYI.

But I think it’s fine, if a bit tongue-twisty for some.

I’m a little confused on how to say it? Is is kal-lee-luh? It feels like a lot of L sounds. I knew a [name_f]Kaleah[/name_f] growing up and it reminds me of that.

I’m pretty sure this name, which has Arabic origins, would be pronounced ka-LEE-luh, not like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

I actually like this name and I think it has a lot of untapped potential. I much prefer it to [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] or [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f].

I knew a [name_f]Kalilah[/name_f] who pronounced it Ka-lil-ah and I thought that was beautiful.

I feel like I’ve met a [name_f]Kalilah[/name_f] - it feels energetic and bright

I really like it, I pronounce it like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] with a K

i think kalilah is lovely !! i’ve encountered a couple and i’ve always thought it was so pretty. i think of it as an arabic name, so not made up at all. i would say kah-LEE-luh instead of kah-LYE-luh rhymes with delilah, which i prefer, though i could see it either way !!
