Its been in the back of my mind for a while now
Is Katyusha a nice name for a baby?
What middle name would you use this with?

Katyusha feels a little nickname-y to me, I’d prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Ekaterina[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. I also prefer the spelling [name_f]Katusha[/name_f] (or even [name_f]Katushka[/name_f]), as the ‘y’ feels kind of superfluous and a quick google revealed the Katyusha spelling is linked to several Soviet rocket launchers/bombers and just general military/war-related stuff, which isn’t really ideal.
Middles for [name_f]Katusha[/name_f]:
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_f]Lilian[/name_f]
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_u]Lior[/name_u]
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
I know a Katyusha! She’s a really sweet little Russian girl
It does sound very Eastern European to me, so while I love it (and its nicknames!) I would advice against using it if youre not from there
[name_f]Katusha[/name_f] like the pp said, or just [name_f]Katya[/name_f] would be better options in that case
Now if you /are/ from there, then like I said I really like it, and nn [name_f]Katya[/name_f], [name_f]Katie[/name_f], [name_f]Asha[/name_f] etc are all lovely
It’s a nickname, not a name. Russian people don’t use nicknames as full names, so I think it would be better to use [name_f]Ekaterina[/name_f]/[name_f]Katerina[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nn Katyusha.
