Thoughts on Kirpa

I was wondering what your thoughts were on the name Kirpa. I think it’s such a spunky, happy sounding, sunny name! I’ve been loving it lately. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it? If so- What middle names would you pair with it? What would you use as a nickname?

I immediately read [name_u]KERR[/name_u]-puh, which didn’t appeal to me at all, however, on second look, I wouldn’t mind it said [name_m]KEER[/name_m]-puh (how are you pronouncing it?). I think the Punjabi meanings (“compassion, mercy, grace, kindness”) are lovely, but I’m just not enjoying the actual look of the name, to be honest. I’m also unsure of the name in regard to the ‘article/symbol of faith’ attached to kirpa (kirpan) in regard to Sikhism. Also, Kirpa looks quite awkward and abrupt to me, perhaps just not being used to the sounds together?

I’m completely unsure as to just why, but Kirpa [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] immediately came to mind as combo.

Kirpa is interesting. I think it’s chirpy sounds could grow on me

I agree with pp, it has a spunky, chirpy, cheerful sound. I pronounced it KER- pa similar in sound to burqa.

I think either a long flowy name or a soft and sweet name goes best with the harsher sounds in Kirpa.
