I LOVE [name_u]Lake[/name_u] as a middle name for a girl (or even a first name). I think that this is such a pretty name and using it as a middle for a really pretty girls name would make the combo so adorable! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u]!
I know one, a toddler boy, and when his name was announced almost all family and friends did not love it. While no one said anything negative, nothing positive was said as well. Honestly, while I can see the appeal of the name, due to its rarity I think a lack of positive response should be expected. It is similar to names [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Fox[/name_u], [name_m]Bear[/name_m], and so on. Also, the [name_u]Lake[/name_u] I know is often called [name_u]Blake[/name_u].
I loved the [name_m]Little[/name_m] House books as a kid and that’s where I first came across the name [name_u]Lake[/name_u]: Laura’s mother’s name was [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] Ingalls. I’ve always thought it to be a gorgeous combo and very unexpected (it seems like the majority of girls I knew had middle names such as [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or Marie).
[name_u]Lake[/name_u] wouldn’t be bad as a first name. It actually feels pretty on trend. I personally like it better as an expected middle name
