I was considering [name]Lane[/name] for a middle name. I think this combo is pretty handsome and I might need to add it to my first name list. Any thoughts on this combination?
At first glance I was trying to figure out if the baby was a boy or girl.
I agree with the above poster. I love [name]Lane[/name] for a first name–it is at the top of our list as well–but I would pair it with a more obvious male middle name.
[name]Everett[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] aren’t obviously male names? Are there girls with these names? I realize [name]Lane[/name] is used for both, but [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] seem pretty male to me! [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are both middles, by the way.
I went to school with a male [name]Lane[/name] so it is all boy to me! As with the middle names! I immediately assumed you were refering to a baby boy. I love all three names, I always found [name]Lane[/name] a super cool name and it ages really well
I like it and definitely see [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name] as a clear indicator of the sex being a boy. [name]Even[/name] with that spelling of [name]Lane[/name] I don’t see confusion being an issue.
Not a fan at all. [name]Lane[/name] to me is like using [name]Street[/name] or Road for a kid’s name. Not good. [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name] is nice, though.
I think [name]Lane[/name] has been a first/last name long enough that all people won’t automatically think of road or street. I could be wrong…More opinions would be helpful if anyone else wants to chime in. While I think [name]Lane[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name] sounds great, I may switch out [name]Jude[/name] to something else because our last name also ends in a “d” so, [name]Jude[/name] at the end sounds quite abrupt.
I’m not against spelling it differently if that would help clarify it as a name but [name]Layne[/name] seems to be used mostly for girls and I’m thinking [name]Laine[/name] is as well. Any opinions on the spelling?
There was no question you were talking about a boy. I’ve never met a female [name]Everett[/name] or [name]Jude[/name] (and hope not to, sigh). That said, I prefer [name]Jude[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Lane[/name] if all three must be used. [name]Lane[/name] is nice enough, but I like [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] better
[name]Lane[/name] is ever so popular these days for both boys and girls. I, personally, wouldn’t be able to use it just because of it being a wprd name. I also dislike virtue names as well. Middle names aren’t used as often so when you just say [name]Lane[/name] it might be for a girl or boy. If that is something you are worried about, you can always substitute it for a middle name. Everrett [name]Jude[/name] [name]Lane[/name] sounds handsome and would take care of the two "d"s at the end of the name when paired with the last.
I like it, and it’s all boy to me. I think [name]Jude[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Lane[/name] would be equally handsome. I love [name]Everett[/name] btw.
I like all three names, especially [name]Everett[/name] but I’m not a big fan of the double middle name. I would much prefer [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name], [name]Lane[/name] [name]Everett[/name], [name]Jude[/name] [name]Everett[/name] or [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name]. Good luck!
[name]Lane[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name] is a fine and handsome combo. I never doubted the gender of the child. Girls with this name are often spelled [name]Laine[/name]. [name]Jude[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Lane[/name] may flow a little better but your combo is quite nice.
I love [name]Lane[/name] for a boy. [name]Everett[/name] [name]Jude[/name] seems pretty masculine to me. And the lesson I always take from people’s stories like, “I went to school with a boy [name]Lane[/name]” or “I have a guy named [name]Lane[/name] in my family” is that once people know a [name]Lane[/name] who is a boy, then they associate the name more with a boy and it isn’t weird for them. I think [name]Lane[/name] is fab.
Sorry, I should have been clearer! [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are definitely boy names, but at a glance something about the combination as a whole looked feminine to me at first, probably because [name]Lane[/name] is unisex, and I immediately saw the [name]Eve[/name]- and [name]Jud[/name]- which are both common female name prefixes. When I really [name]READ[/name] the name, I could tell that it was unquestionably a boy, but I did a double-take. [name]Hence[/name] my suggestion of pairing it with a name that looks more boyish at a glance.
