Saw this today, what do you think?
[name_m]Just[/name_m] bumpin’ it up.
I prefer just [name_f]Lark[/name_f] or [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] but it’s sweet
I like the way it sounds, though it seems a little made-up to me, like an embellishment of [name_f]Lark[/name_f].
This- or rather, [name_u]Larkin[/name_u]- is a surname in my family tree, so it sort of fits in with the “surnames used as first name” trend: [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], [name_u]Campbell[/name_u], [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], and the like. I’ve always liked the sound and think it is a great way to have a “substantial” name while offering up the super-sweet [name_f]Lark[/name_f] as a nickname.
I think that it could make a great first or middle name.
I personally prefer [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. [name_f]Lark[/name_f] has a free spirited vibe to me. It’s a rare nature name that though uncommon doesn’t seem odd. It stands out but also seems natural and calm, not like it’s trying to stand out… If that makes sense.
Larken seems more trendy and kind of blends in with [name_u]Laken[/name_u], [name_u]Leighton[/name_u], etc. It’s not bad but just has a different feel and not one I personally enjoy as much.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m] thanks everyone, some great answers here! Is [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] with the ‘i’ more typical then? I like it that way too
I like just [name_f]Lark[/name_f] much more, it feels fresher and less 2000’s. That said, Larken/[name_u]Larkin[/name_u] “[name_f]Lark[/name_f]” wouldn’t be bad!
I’ve only ever seen the [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] spelling before. Plus, [name_u]Larkin[/name_u] looks more feminine whereas Larken more masculine to me.
