I really love the names [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] and I was wondering what other people thought of them. If I ever have kids, their names are going to be [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Karina[/name_f] (Lavy) and [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] ([name_u]Finn[/name_u]) . I really love the names but I feel like they might be a little bit too uncommon. I mean [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] isn’t even in the top 1000 and [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] is almost number 400. I’m wondering if they are a little too unpopular and if my kids will be teased because of their names.
[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] sounds quite normal and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is very popular so I think he’ll be fine.
I think [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is pretty but it’s the much more unusual one, and also Lavy can be a fun-making point depending on where you live.
I absolutely love [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]! A very underappreciated choice, with not only vintage charm, but feisty, mischievous personality as a result of the [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] character. I don’t think lack of popularity matters, in fact I’d say it’s a good thing. [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]'s a gorgeous, usable choice that can ‘Wow!’ without being heard over and over again. Uncommon or unusual names do not guarantee teasing any more than more common choices do. I know people with unusual names not be teased at all about their name, and some with more popular choices get comments on them.
[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] I’m not a big fan of (it reminds me of that [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] song/rhyme) but [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a handsome combo. Plus [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] goes well with [name_f]Lavender[/name_f].
I think both names are gorgeous, and that neither open up for teasing, really. I love your combinations as well!!
I love both and I think they’re a gorgeous sibset. [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] isn’t common as a name, but it’s familiar because of the flower, color, and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] character, so it doesn’t feel “out there”. [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is so handsome.
I love them both, but I am definitely getting a [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] vibe from the set ([name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] & [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_m]Finnigan[/name_m]). I really do not think it is a dealbreaker though, and doubt it will lead to teasing. I think having nicknames for them is the perfect solution, if you are worried about the full names being uncommon.
They are truly gorgeous choices!
They sound really beautiful and unexpected together. I also thought about the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] characters and think that works in their advantage. I feel like kids would be more familiar with the names than you’d expect because of it, so I don’t think they’d be teased.
The combos are very beautiful as well!
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]! I have [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] on my list. I like the nn [name_f]Liv[/name_f] more than Lavy. I like [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] too. [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] make a great sibset!
They’re both lovely and definitely usable!
I don’t know if anyone else has yet mentioned the HP references my mind immediately jumped to ([name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] and [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]!!!) because honestly I think it’s just bc of how big an HP nerd I am, lol!
