I have come to adore sweet & spunky Lenya [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], and the alliteration doesn’t bother me in this case. Our last name starts with J. [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] holds a special meaning as it was thrown when we exited our wedding reception. It was raining and the smell of lavender filled the air; sweet memories! What are your thoughts?? I’d love to hear them Thanks in advance!
I adore [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]! I think it makes a perfect middle name, although I am not fond of Lenya as a name personally. I am not bothered by the alteration of first names and middle names, because to most people she will be Lenya J.
That is such a pretty name. The alliteration works really well for it, too.
Thank you both very much!
@bassily, I agree. The alliteration doesn’t matter so much because most times she will be referred to as Lenya J.
@microbio95, thank you so much! I’m so glad you like it
If anyone has any other suggestions, I am totally open to hearing them!
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name… I also like [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] as a first name!
Not my favorite middle for Lenya but the association is nice : )
I’m guessin’ Lenya [name_u]Rain[/name_u]/[name_f]Raine[/name_f] would be too weird for you?
I’m not a big fan of Lenya. I do really like [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]. The alliteration sounds good in this case to me and it doesn’t even matter. She’s not going to be Lenya [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] to a lot of people.
Alliteration aside, [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] doesn’t flow very well as a MN with Lenya as a first, at least to my ear
I know I posted on your other thread about middle names for Lenya, but I just wanted to chime in here again and say I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] Lenya [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]!! [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] has lovely and happy associations for you, so that is perfect. (I also love the story, and associations and meaning of Lenya, by the way!). It sounds like a beautiful, meaningful and spunky combination.
I have never heard of the name Lenya. I can’t say I’m a fan. Lenya [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is a bit of a tongue twister if said too quickly. I adore [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] though. I’d probably reconsider the first name, HOWEVER I am also in favour of calling your baby whatever name you are in love with. You will be the one saying it the most and living with it daily as well as your daughter. If you love it, then go with it
I think it’s great! I’m a huge fan of alliteration in the right combo and I think it totally works here. [name_u]Love[/name_u] soft, vintage [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] in the middle for a quirky first, and the special significance of it makes it so meaningful.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to give me your thoughts!!
@w12, I agree - I can totally see [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] as a first name!
@emmievis, I understand that. I’m not a big fan of [name_u]Rain/name_u, but I appreciate the suggestion!
@alicemarie1, that’s a good point - to most people she would just be Lenya.
@yuma, I can understand that - I’m still trying to figure out if the flow works for me!
@columbiacharm, you are so kind! It certainly is a meaningful combo to us
@hides, I can understand that. I’m still trying to decide if it’s too much of a tongue twister for me. I totally agree with you about calling your baby whatever name you are in love with.
@katinka, thank you - I love that vintage [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] balances out off-beat & quirky Lenya!
I love alliteration! I am not a huge fan of Lenya but love [name_f]Lavender[/name_f].
Some suggestions:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f]/[name_f]Leta[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
However, if you like it works just fine. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a personal preference. Good luck!
Thank you @gildedfairyx, I love the name [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - and I love how it flows with [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], but I just can’t seem to shake Lenya. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is also very sweet!
I don’t love Lenya but I do [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f].
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] Lenya would be my choice.
Or even [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f].
@relica, I do love [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] Thanks so much for sharing your opinion!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], beautiful wedding memory!
Lenya, not so keen on, but if you are, that’s OK. A bit Leniny.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]? More chance of a daughter liking that perhaps, and I see it in your signature, I think.
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] but not too sure on Lenya…
I like
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
But its completely up to you!
Thank you @lesliemarion & @unicornjoanna!
I think [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is one of the sweetest names I’ve ever heard and the sweet memory that comes with it just puts it over the top I really like the suggestion of using [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] rather than Lenya - that’s a tough one, I love both of those names a whole lot!
