Thoughts on Leonore? (pronounced as Lee-O-nore)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! This is my first post, so sorry if it’s messy.
No baby or anything, but [name_f]Leonore[/name_f] is at the top of my list for girls, and I was wondering about some opinions on if it’s a nice name that can fit in the US. It is seen as an “older” name like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], etc., but it hasn’t become famous here like the previous two. Although, it’s renowned for a few princesses in Europe (Leonor of Spain, [name_f]Leonore[/name_f] of [name_u]Sweden[/name_u], [name_f]Eleonore[/name_f] of Belgium). Also, I would pronounce it the way it looks (so with the O).
Would it be a good first name or would it fit better as a middle (or not at all lol)?
If you would like to suggest sibling names (boy and girl) that can go along with it, that would be great.

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], [name_f]Leonore[/name_f] is gorgeous - kind of mythical and princess-y but strong and powerful too. It fits in with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] but has a bit more flair!

I think it could work as a first, but a middle name too, if you aren’t sure about it.

I’d spell it the Spanish way (Leonor) if you’re pronouncing it that way, [name_f]My[/name_f] first take was to pronounce it “Lenore” without an emphasis on the long o sound.

Another great version of Leonore/Leonor is [name_f]Leontyne[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Leonore[/name_f]! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name of all time is [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], so seems like we have pretty similar taste! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I think it would work well in both the first or middle spot, so some suggestions for both:

I think it’s gorgeous! Tailored but elegant. I do think you’d get a two-syllable [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] pronunciation a lot.

I’ve always said LEE oh nore, but I could be wrong. I like it! But the mispronunciation if [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] would make me think of The [name_u]Raven[/name_u] by [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u].

[name_f]Leonore[/name_f] is really pretty - and I love the way you pronounce it! [name_u]Lenny[/name_u] and [name_u]Leo[/name_u] as nicknames could add such a spunk… which I think is golden with a sister [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ‘Jo.’ :relaxed:

[name_f]Leonore[/name_f] feels so unique and vintage. I think it’s a fit pair with something like [name_m]Jarvis[/name_m] or [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] as a brother, then [name_f]Eve[/name_f] or [name_f]Maud[/name_f] as a sister!
