I’m sorry I am posting AGAIN. Would you mind giving me your honest opinions on our current girl name list. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to offer any suggestions you think might fit to add. Last name is Wind.
Mahli [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - not my style, sorry.
[name_f]Milla[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Milla[/name_f] a lot. I think I prefer [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] nn [name_f]Milla[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - very pretty.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] - I do like this, but I’m not sure that [name_u]Harper[/name_u] Wind has the best flow for some reason.
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - a bit too trendy for me. I prefer [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u].
[name_f]Asha[/name_f] - pretty: I like it objectively, but it’s not really my style.
[name_f]Marlo[/name_f] - I prefer the spelling [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] for a girl. I know of a girl named [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] who is mistaken for [name_m]Mario[/name_m] a lot when her name is written down. [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] totally eliminates that problem! I think [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] Wind is my favourite of your list. [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] Wind would be really gorgeous, and uses an element of [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f].
Torah - I don’t like it I’m afraid.
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] ([name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Aria[/name_f], don’t mind it with [name_f]Kate[/name_f])
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] ([name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] although much prefer [name_f]Kate[/name_f] to [name_f]Elle[/name_f] as a middle name next to [name_u]Harper[/name_u]… [name_m]Just[/name_m] sounds better in my opinion).
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites on your list are:
1.) [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] (The best!)
2.) [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (It sounds cute!)
Though I like others before her, Mahli is jumping out at me…not the spelling, which I’m not so keen on here, but rather the sound. [name_u]Marley[/name_u] Wind sounds great, and with this spelling, I really quite like it. The [name_f]Kate[/name_f], however, does feel very abrupt in the middle of the two though…
[name_f]My[/name_f] top three (in order) are [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] ([name_u]Marlow[/name_u]), and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Elle[/name_f].
I like
[name_f]Milla[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - tho I prefer [name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elle[/name_f]
And I also think [name_f]Asha[/name_f] is really pretty.
Just wanted to add, since you like Torah… Jora is one of my favorite Hebrew names I’ve come across. According to nb, means “autumn rain”…
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - I think this is your best bet from your list. Very pretty
[name_f]Milla[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - not really my style but a fine name
[name_f]Marlo[/name_f] - okay, though I vastly prefer [name_f]Margo[/name_f].
[name_f]Asha[/name_f] - not horrible, but I don’t love it
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] - the names of 2 magazines, seems too much to me. And [name_u]Harper[/name_u] always reminds me of “harping on” something or [name_m]Harpo[/name_m] [name_m]Marx[/name_m]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - this name always makes me think of harlot.
Torah - interesting, never heard this used as a name. I have a feeling this might be seen as offensive to some Jewish people, though I’ve never seen it discussed
Mahli [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. Mahli seems utterly pointless. Like spelling [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] → Csairuh
I like [name_f]Milla[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Asha[/name_f], and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. The others I don’t think work with Wind at all–Torah and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] are too word-heavy, [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] and [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] both have the “low wind” problem, and Mahli Wind, while there’s nothing wrong with it on the surface, kind of sounds like a pretentious pen name or alias. I think mischa’s right that a longer name would be better–since you like unconventional names, maybe check out some ancient or mythological lists.
Naming your child Torah is like naming them Bible. Maybe it’s because my grandfather is Jewish, but I think naming someone Torah is giving them a very strange word name.
I honestly didn’t know Torah with Jewish (my religious knowledge is near zero). I saw the name at work and told hubby. There is a snowboarder called Torah too. He likes it, I was a bit unsure but now want it taken off the list.
The low wind never occurred to me either. Funny as I had ruled out [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u] because of the connotations with our surname.
