Hello ladies! I have a crush on [name]Louis[/name] and wondering what you think of [name]Louis[/name]. It’s just so handsome and has everything I want. I prefer pronouncing it without the s sound, but I like both pronunciation. Thoughts? Thanks!
Ohh, I’m crushing on [name]Louis[/name] said “[name]Louie[/name]”, too! I think it’s so handsome and quirky yet completely classic. I would love to meet one. (Although, I have to admit, I didn’t notice–or appreciate it–until I saw it on [name]Louis[/name] [name]Tomlinson[/name] from [name]One[/name] Direction… I think some of their names–especially [name]Zane[/name]/Zayn, [name]Niall[/name], and [name]Louis[/name]–are going to start climbing the charts!)
[name]Louis[/name] is a family name in my family, as is [name]Louisa[/name]. My great uncle [name]Louis[/name]'s name was pronounced [name]Louie[/name] but I too like it both ways. I’ve always liked the combination of [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Louis[/name].
Boom! This exactly.
[name]Liam[/name] can’t climb the charts much more, and [name]Harry[/name] isn’t a newcomer to the scene, and his longer version of [name]Harold[/name] is more of an acquired taste.
[name]Louis[/name] is a fine name, but if he’s growing up in [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name], he will have to suffer through people constantly calling him “Loo-iss”, a la [name]Even[/name] Stevens.
[name]Ah[/name] I love it being pronounced [name]Louie[/name]! Such a handsome name, classic as said before and sounds very jazzy to me ([name]Louis[/name] [name]Armstrong[/name]) which is a bonus.
I definitely agree with this, expect those names to rise pretty quickly as [name]One[/name] Direction take on the world ha!
I love it! It’s near the top of my list right now. I started going on this French name binge and [name]Louis[/name] ended up really catching my eye. I think it’s great.
[name]Love[/name] it spelled and pronounced this way. Very handsome. It was known enough before that you wouldn’t be completely tied to [name]One[/name] Direction if you chose to use it. Actually, I didn’t even think of the connection until it was mentioned. With the s sound, I prefer it spelled [name]Lewis[/name].
fangirls over [name]Louis[/name] Tommo I like the name a la [name]Tomlinson[/name], however “[name]Lewis[/name]”, as it would be butchered, not so much
[name]Ash[/name], you hit the nail on the head!
I (somehow) happened upon their Wiki page, and some of their sibling names are fantastic! ([name]Charlotte[/name], Felicite, [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], and [name]Gemma[/name] - if you were wondering.)
I really like the name [name]Louis[/name] (it was my grandpa’s name), but I really don’t like pronouncing it loo-ee. I really strongly prefer the loo-iss pronunciation, and I think that’s what most people will say in the US, so he will constantly be correcting people. I don’t mind the nn [name]Louie[/name] though. NMS, but I like it like that more than [name]Louis[/name] pronounced that way. I don’t know, it just seems unnatural to me personally.
[name]Louis[/name], [name]Louise[/name], and [name]Louisa[/name] are family names for me, so I love it, though I prefer it to be pronounced “Loo-is”. I also love the nickname [name]Leo[/name], as that was my great uncle’s nickname.
What is [name]One[/name] Direction? Some kind of musical group? Everyone on here seems to know who they are and know all the names, but I’ve never heard of them. I feel very old right now.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Louis[/name]! I’d never imagine that pron would be a problem; to me, [name]Louis[/name] is always ‘[name]Louie[/name]’ and [name]Lewis[/name] is…[name]Lewis[/name] ;).
catheyc: LOL. I vaguely know who [name]One[/name] Direction are (unfortunately ;), but I would never have had a clue what their individual names are!
I loooove it but pronounced the English way. A perfect name for a boy.
I wish I didn’t know who [name]One[/name] Direction are, can’t stand them.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Louis[/name] pronounced either way, I think it’s classic, familiar yet not overly popular and a great name for both a boy and a man.
