I love Lys. I also love Lyssa, Lisa, [name_f]Lissa[/name_f] despite dated feeling [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] has. Anything with nickname [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] or [name_f]Lys[/name_f] that feels beautiful and gentle? I have considered Melissa, which I like, but looking for L names.
What about Lysandra?
I completely forgot about this, but I don’t think its so usable here, where I live.
[name_f]Lysandra[/name_f] would be great - but I already love [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] for a boy, and this name would cancel another.
I only recently learned about it! Its an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] derivative just like Lisa.
I know! but every time I hear about this name my mind jumps to local word for licking, which does sound similar.
Other names [name_f]Lys[/name_f] is usable as NN:
I do love Phyllis, Felicity, Callisto,Lieselotte and [name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alysa[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and you could definetly use the nickname lys
Lane / Laine
Lisa or Liz NN …
Elisabeth / Elisabetta
Maelys! [name_u]Or[/name_u] Lysette seems pretty to me if you want an L name.
oh, that’s pretty spelling
[name_f]Maelys[/name_f] is not up to my tastes.
[name_f]Calista[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Lys[/name_f] would be perfect! It means “most beautiful”
But for L names I would suggest Lisbet, Lisette, or [name_f]Liesel[/name_f]
As far as L- names
Lovisa nn Lisa
Lillias nn Lis
Louisa nn Lisa
A few that are not L- names
Alisa/Elisa nn Lisa
Calypso nn Lys
Clarissa nn Lissa
Eliska nn Lis or Lissa
Eloisa nn Lisa
Glenys nn Lys
Marlys nn Lys or Lyssa
Ulyssa nn Lys or Lyssa
Editing to add one more L- name I thought of:
Leticia nn Lisa
I love the Liselot variant of Lieselotte. It seems softer, calmer and more streamlined to me. Maybe also Lilias?
What about Analysse, Elysse/Alysse, or Lysette
