I’m loving the name [name_f]Marjory[/name_f] lately but my DF hates it. He thinks it’s too close to “margarine”. He also hates [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]… So in an effort to find a pretty and classic/unusual name with the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], I thought of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I also love the meaning of the [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] which is “love of nature”.
Any thoughts or opinions? Other suggestions to get to nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]?
I don’t love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (not sure why, it always just sound like a paint colour or something the like) but I think it makes a lovely full name for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].
Other ideas:
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
[name_f]Magali[/name_f]/Magalie
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! The only reason I wouldn’t personally use it is because I like [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] a little bit more and an [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] and a [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] in a subset would be too much. But [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is great! It’s one of my favorites!
I love the name [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! I once asked for full names for the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and got a heck ton of answers. [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], Marguelit, [name_f]Madrigal[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] were the ones I liked the most. Maybe some of these will appeal to you?
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is such a pretty name!
my suggestions are [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] but I also think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] works as a name on its own.
Great suggestions! These are my favourites too, and I also love Margalit, [name_f]Margalo[/name_f] and [name_f]Morag[/name_f].
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] definitely works, but like @opheliaflora I’ve never quite “got” it. It feels quite fussy and fusty to me, but I think it’s probably just not quite my style. It does feel quirky and different, while still fitting in with the trends for unusual names, vintage names and slightly frilly names for girls.
I love the beautiful [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] tree and have such positive memories associated with it so when I hear the name [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] it makes me smile. I think it solves your [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] dilemma quite perfectly.
