[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s unusable because of [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the Middle, or any other pop culture associations? What would you think if you met a baby boy with this name?
Thank you for your opinions in advance!
I love [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and think it’s very usable. I know a young [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] who has the nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m] and I’d love to see more people use this name!
Oh, [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is so handsome, and certainly usable!
I think it is very useable! While you could argue that pop culture references abound I really don’t think any of them are prevalent about to matter.
It’s a classic name that has a comfortable charm!
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is great and 100% usable!
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is totally usable.
It’s been a long time since [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the Middle was popular, at least where I live. I’d think most young children wouldn’t be aware of it, if teasing is what you’re concerned about about.
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is totally usable! And such a sweet name, I might add. I’d love to meet a little [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and it’s on my list as well!
Obviously I love it, my DS1 is named [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. We got the odd [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the middle comment once he actually became a middle child, but overall tons of positive reactions to his name. When he was a baby we were told many times “such a big name for such a little boy” but my thoughts are that little boys grow to be men so that’s exactly what we wanted.
I think it is cute, handsome, unique & very usable! It’s a great name!
I adore [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]. Great name choice and totally usable!
No way! I have very bad associations with this name and would never use it! The associations are personal, though, so I don’t see why you shouldn’t use it.
I think it’s a lovely name and would not have a problem using it. I would say the biggest issue you might face is that people often leave out the second “l” when spelling [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
I think it’s great, and I am surprised to see myself type that. My grandmother always talked about her cousin [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] so it had an old man feel to me, but then I met a young (20s) Scottish [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], tall, broad, a mop of curly dark hair. Does it get better than that??
I can see the appeal although it’s not really my style. Nothing about [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the Middle - the only negative association for me is our Aussie prime minister, [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] Turnbull. Probably means nothing to non-Aussies. Having said that, a family member who I love very dearly is [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and I plan on honouring him if possible by using the name [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], which I adore. Basically - not my style, but I can see why you like it. It’s a good name
I don’t think the [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the Middle association makes it unusable. The show is old at this point and he wasn’t a “bad guy” (I don’t think…)
I like the nickname [name_m]Mack[/name_m]. It’s a good name, I think.
