Thoughts on Marie?

What are your thoughts on [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a first name? Is it still too old and bland or is it ready for a comeback?

Am I still in the minority as considering it to be a cool vintage name with a bit of spunk?

What middle name would you pair with it?

I don’t particularly find [name_f]Marie[/name_f] spunky, but do think it would be refreshing to see in the first name spot. For a long time it’s been relegated to a default middle name position (I know more people than I can count on my digits with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] for a middle name) which I think is why some considering it bland. But I can’t actually recall ever meeting someone with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a first name, so that prospect feels exciting to me.

Agree with comments above - especially re it’s overuse in second spot, under in first!

Oh and [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Lucette[/name_f] or [name_f]Luella[/name_f] could be pretty

I like it. It’s very common in my country though so I’m used to it as first name and don’t find it spunky, but I can imagine it would be refreshing in other countries.

I love it! Marie is very underused, especially as a first! I think it is a bit spunky given its rare use as a first but would rather call it sweet and classic. Go for it!

I wouldn’t call it spunky (but I don’t see names like [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] as spunky while others do when compared to [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]). I see [name_f]Mara[/name_f] or Mahri as more spunky than [name_f]Maria[/name_f] or [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I do see [name_f]Maria[/name_f]/[name_f]Marie[/name_f] as solid classics. I find either one refreshing as a first name. Some may find it boring, but that’s a matter of taste. To me, it’s not any less boring than [name_f]Sofie[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], or [name_f]Anna[/name_f]- 4 to five letters and two syllables. in fact, I find [name_f]Marie[/name_f] to be the most appealing out those options

I dont find it spunky but I like it as a first name. Sounds very sweet and classic.

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], but I prefer it as a middle name.

My best friend is 24 and named [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I’ve never met anyone else our age or younger with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a first name. I don’t think it’s spunky, but I do think it is classic and underused. I prefer [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Mara[/name_f], but my friend loves her name.

I adore [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a first!! It’s beautiful, elegant, versatile… it’s perfect.
