Thoughts on Mars/Marz as a first name?

Hey everyone,

What do you think of [name_u]Mars[/name_u]/[name_m]Marz[/name_m] as a first name? I know it isn’t very common so I’m not sure what others might think of it. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you think it should be spelt?

This isn’t actually for a baby but someone who has already been named ‘Marouf’ (different culture). He doesn’t like his name much (I think it’s quite cool) and is asking me what I think of Mars as a nickname. He doesn’t want a nickname that just seems overly unrelated to his actual name.

Yea, I’d say he could use [name_u]Mars[/name_u] as a nickname

Marouf nn [name_u]Mars[/name_u] would definitely work. I used to know a guy whose given name was [name_u]Mars[/name_u] and he wore it well, though it does make me think of the chocolate bar and the planet- they’re not bad associations though.

I love [name_u]Mars[/name_u], its very cute
[name_m]Marz[/name_m] sounds kind of silly and more feminine
