I really want to love [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I love the vibes. But it’s definitely way too tied to the slang for me.

Personally it is a big slang for weed here so i wouldn’t be able to use it, but the spider-man reference doesn’t bother me nor do i think people would assume it’s from spider-man!

I love [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! I’ve never heard anyone use that term for weed, and I didn’t even know that it was a slang term until one of my parents mentioned it. If someone introduced their child to me as [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] I wouldn’t think of that at all. I would personally be more likely to think of the connection to Spiderman, one of my favourite superheroes. Although I don’t think many would automatically assume a reference, unless her nickname was MJ, since it’s a combination of two very classic names.

For me personally, I associate the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] more with drugs than I do with, for example, the name [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. But I think its use in Spider-Man helps alleviate that reference a little. And if you’re a Spider-man fan, you can always say you used the name for that rather than the drug if anyone gives you a hard time. It’s a beautiful, classic combo, and MJ is a fun, funky nickname.

It’s too tied to drugs. If you really wanted to use it I’d suggest something like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u].

The slang association is very strong for me (as well as the shoes). I never think of Spider-Man.
