What is everyone’s thoughts on [name]Matilda[/name]?
[name]Love[/name] or hate it?
[name]Just[/name] came across the name last night and was wanting to get some general opinions on the name. Right now we are very much in love with [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. But just for fun, [name]How[/name] does everyone like Matilida [name]Jane[/name]?
What do you prefer: [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] or Matilida [name]Jane[/name]?
[name]Matilda[/name] is gorgeous. I love [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Jane[/name], and like it better than [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] (which is fine, just kind of sugary sweet. I like quirky [name]Matilda[/name] better then sweet).
I prefer [name]Magnolia[/name] to [name]Matilda[/name].
What I like about [name]Matilda[/name] is the possibility of [name]Tillie[/name]. [name]Tillie[/name] is nice, but there’s other long forms to get to it, and even so I think I prefer [name]Magnolia[/name] to [name]Tillie[/name] in any case.
[name]Magnolia[/name] is much less popular ([name]Matilda[/name] is really REALLY loved around here) and has a natural vibe I really like, and I find the trees powerful even not when in flower - remembering the stately silver-barked trees I grew up among, their blossoms were almost a bonus, not the whole picture of their beauty. The only question is pronunciation - I prefer the 3 syllable version to the more forced-feeling 4.
I like Tilia, which is a different kind of tree, more than Matilida, that’s for sure.
