Well, hi. I would like to know what do you guys think of the name [name_f]Maya[/name_f] considering our last name is Halt, I actually love the sound of it but it’s always good to ask other people as well. We don’t have a middle name for now, well, we actually do, [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is our choice, but we can’t decide if it’s good enough. Anyway, what are your thoughts on [name_f]Maya[/name_f] Halt and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] Halt? Thank you very much.
I have always thought that the pronunciation of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] might be somewhat of a struggle - I say it like “MY-uh” but know that it can be said as “[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-uh”, and for this reason (and because of its Classical roots) prefer the spelling [name_f]Maia[/name_f]. I do think that [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] Halt/[name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] Halt sounds great as a combination.
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is pretty and sounds fine with your surname. I might avoid the initials MEH, although they aren’t the worst. Have you considered [name_f]Amaya[/name_f]?
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is one of my favorite names and I happen to love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as well, I love both combos. I would go with the middle name, [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is very feminine and also sounds very strong to me. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is a name that reminds me of someone bold, intelligent and kind-hearted. Keep the middle name and it might even help with nicknames if you ever look for one, as I don’t think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] needs a nickname. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] Halt is darling and she will grow up and go as just [name_f]Maya[/name_f] Halt which sounds absolutely beautiful.
I considered [name_f]Maia[/name_f], but I associate it with a very common last name back in my home country and it gets a little weird. Thank you!
That’s the reason why i can’t really decide if i’m going to give her a middle name or not. My husband kinda gave up trying to find middle names for her because we don’t like how most of them sound, the only one we like ([name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]), make the inicials MEH. And I actually considered [name_f]Amaya[/name_f], but I figured I would just end up calling her [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and dropped the A.
Thank you! Yeah, [name_f]Maya[/name_f] may have some cute names if I twist it a little, but I wouldn’t want to, i love the name so much. I could always use the [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] nicknames if I wanted to, even tho I’m a person who doesn’t really like nicknames that come from the name, it’s always good to have a bit under the sleeve. Thank you!
What about something similar to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for the middle?
[name_u]Lisa[/name_u]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] (or the countless other spellings)
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]

[name_f]Lisette[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]

I love the name [name_f]Maya[/name_f] (or [name_f]Maia[/name_f]) and I think both [name_f]Maya[/name_f] Halt and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] Halt sound wonderful! I wouldn’t really worry about the initial though, I doubt most people would pay attention to that and MEH is not bad
There’s a bunch of my favorite names on your list but none of them feel right to me. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Have you considered pronouncing it MAH-ya? That’s how we say it in Greece and I think it would sound really great!
The name is nice and I think that’s the best spelling of it for the correct pronunciation. I did notice the MEH but it’s not the end of the world. I would say definitely give a middle name! [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] works well.
Yes, that’s the only way I thought of it. Thank you.
Thank you!
