Thoughts on Meadow??

I’ve recently fallen for the name [name]Meadow[/name]. I was wondering what you berries think of it?

Is it too hippy?
Can you think of any nicknames for [name]Meadow[/name]??

[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] sounds nice (a friend on here suggested it to me)?

I’ve always had a thing for [name]Meadow[/name], but it’s a bit too hippy-dippy for me to actually use it. I think it could make a nice MN for a girly FN, like [name]Ariana[/name] [name]Meadow[/name], [name]Mirabella[/name] [name]Meadow[/name], [name]Ophelia[/name] [name]Meadow[/name], [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Meadow[/name], etc. [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] is a bit too descriptive for me… the only nn I can think of is [name]Mia[/name]/[name]Mea[/name]… the sound isn’t really there, but the letters are…

I love love [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Meadow[/name]!! I have considered it for my list several times. I don’t think it is too hippy at all! I think it is a wonderful choice

i dont mind word names etc. but to meadow just isnt a nice sounding names… automatic nns could be MED… i agree that it would work better as a middle name…

sorry just NMS at all!

I love [name]Meadow[/name]. I love the sound and the hippy vibe it gives off. [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Meadow[/name] is in the #1 spot on my list.

Very hippy, yes, but I could see this working well for a mn. [name]Meadow[/name] as a first name is a bit more risky…a possible nickname might be Meddy, which makes me think like Club Med or Medivac or Medieval.

For me it is a bit too hippy, but I do think its a lovely name, and even better in the middle.

I’ve actually grown to like one, it’s pretty cute.

[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] is too descriptive to me though, I think a really girl feminine middle name would be best, something like [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]?

Too hippy for my taste, at least as a FN. It also reminds me of [name]Tony[/name] Soprano’s daughter.

I think it’s pretty. If [name]Willow[/name] or [name]Harlow[/name] is OK, why not [name]Meadow[/name]? I wouldn’t do [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] though, it’s a bit too themey in my opinion. [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Isabella[/name]?

[name]Meadow[/name] is very hippy-ish, but it’s one of my biggest guilty pleasures. I love it! I babysat a little girl last summer and she told me about her friend named [name]Meadow[/name] and I was like, “Wait, what? Back up. You have a friend named [name]Meadow[/name]?!” so… I mean, I guess it’s usable.
I don’t like [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name], though. Too wordy, and it almost sounds like an oxymoron… plus, I don’t care for [name]Brooke[/name], sorry.
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Anya[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Catharine[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Frances[/name]

Yes, [name]Meadow[/name] is hippy and trendy. I think it would make a cool and quirky middle name choice. I don’t know if I like it well enough to choose it for a first name.

I like [name]Meadow[/name]. It is a GP for me. I would probably never use it.

I’m not liking [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] together. It sounds nice but it’s too wordy.

I’ll suggest

[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Julianne[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]

too hippy for me! Better as a mn.

[name]Meadow[/name] is nice, [name]Brooke[/name] is nice, but together they’re a bit too nature-themey, [name]IMO[/name]. I think either would make a nice first or middle name, but I wouldn’t pair them together. But that’s just me!

I really like [name]Meadow[/name] and the combo [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] is quite pretty. I wouldn’t use a nn.

Like a previous poster, it mostly reminds me of [name]Meadow[/name] Soprano, although since that show is over now it probably won’t be a huge association for kids of this generation. I like the name, would never use it but I like it - [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] is way too cutesy for me though.

I’d pair it with a more grounded and classic middle - I thought [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Jane[/name] were really beautiful suggestions. Maybe [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Alice[/name], [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Claire[/name] or [name]Meadow[/name] [name]Elaine[/name]?

It’s growing on me, but it is a tad hippie for me…but it could work. I do think though that [name]Brooke[/name] makes it sound much more like a hippie name, and very descriptive. Two words that are nature words (even if a different spelling) makes it hard for me to really see it as a name.

I grew up with a [name]Meadow[/name] (she’d be in her mid-thirties now) so it seems very usable to me, just a regular nature-related name like [name]Brooke[/name], [name]Summer[/name], or [name]Holly[/name]. She didn’t have a nickname, we just called her [name]Meadow[/name]. I agree with other posters that I wouldn’t use it with [name]Brooke[/name], though–even though the sound is pretty it seems too much like a place name. (Like “[name]River[/name] [name]Glen[/name],” you know?) I think the [name]Meadow[/name] I knew had middle name [name]Ann[/name], like everyone else born in the 1970s, so unfortunately that’s not much help.

Here, Meadowbrook is a small amusement park. It has a mini golf course, bumper boats, go-carts, and an arcade.
