So we’re 5 weeks from the due date and still discussing names.
Today we were walking across a park and my husband said what about the name [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]?
He loves the sopranos and we’re both fans of nature names.
I like the softer names so it appeals to me. My taste is usually leaning “old lady”
Our other current top names are [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Macy[/name_f].
He still loves [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and I still love [name_f]Faye[/name_f].
We live in [name_m]New[/name_m] Zealand.
Middle name will definitely be [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] -
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u]
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u] is adorable! I also really like [name_f]Macy[/name_f] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f].
I follow a family on instagram that have a little [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] and she wears the name so beautifully, the username is @whatdreamsmaybecome if you would like to check them out.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Only small reservation is that it could be a [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]West[/name_u] situation with [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u] almost being a location. Would it help being [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u] nn [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] or is the effect the same? Maybe it doesn’t matter…it’s a romantic name.
Otherwise, I’d go for [name_f]Macy[/name_f] or [name_f]Faye[/name_f] ([name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u] is a force of a name!). ([name_f]Margaret[/name_f] could be a first then, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Celia[/name_f] (for eg) for [name_f]Macy[/name_f].)
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] OK to say: I don’t love [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (sorry [name_u]Drew[/name_u] Barrymore, her two kids). Both two youthful and cute for me. I’d go for [name_f]Frances[/name_f] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] or [name_f]Livia[/name_f]/ [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] over [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] but again [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u] might sound like “I live [name_u]North[/name_u]”?
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u] is so lovely!! Very sweet! I love [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] as a name - it sound sweet, feminine, and genuine.
I really like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Macy[/name_f] on your list. I have a difficult time imagining a [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] as an adult CEO or an attorney as it feels a bit childish or hippyish to me.
I think [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful. It fits in with other nature names on trend so if/when your daughter wants to be a CEO it will not seem out of place at all.
I love [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]North[/name_u]!
I also love [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] on its own, it’s such a lovely name! Underused, fresh, sweet with a gentle sound and some cute nicknames. [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] has it all. I also disagree with a previous poster, I could easily imagine [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] on an adult woman!
Thank you for the feedback!
Seems pretty positive in general.
@eloiset [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a honour name for 3 of our grandmas, not first name material
I agree [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] does have a slight hippy vibe.
I wish I could convince husband to love [name_f]Faye[/name_f] but he doesn’t so unfortunately not an option. We do both love [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Macy[/name_f].
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] is quite popular in NZ, seems quite divided on nameberry.
@heidicara all her children are beautiful! I’m going to look through to find out all their names haha
I would class [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] similar to [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f].
I can’t see [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] working on any girl. It has a very hipster, naturey vibe that might not fit every girl, and may not fit your daughter. Although, I generally dislike word names and overly-natural names to begin with, so I’m a bit biased. I really love [name_f]Macy[/name_f], however.
