Any thoughts on Menai (said MEN-eye) as a name? I was thinking mostly a girl’s name but maybe because of the somewhat neutral end letter and also now I think of it the whole ‘Men’ syllable it could work for a boy too.
It comes from the Menai Strait in Wales that I have fond memories of.
Maybe it could work as a middle?
Does it stray too far into ‘place names’ (ie. India, China) or is it obscure enough to not notice?
Too hard to pronounce maybe?

Visually Menai looks very nice, but the pronunciation is throwing me off a bit (it sounds a bit like a noun: “men eye”)
I think that it’s better suited as a middle, and I think it’s very sweet!! I’d instinctually pronounce it men-EYE, but if I was corrected to MEN-eye it would be no problem 
I love your connection with it - if you love it, it could be a beautiful middle!!
It’s okay. I’d say it’s obscure enough. There will be the temptation for some to instinctively sort of smash it together so it comes out more like “M’naye” than the stress being super present on the first syllable but other than that I think it’s okay.
