Thoughts on Merisa and Melanie

These are my moms top two picks. [name_m]Just[/name_m] when I thought we had finalized something now I just feel like we’re headed back to square one. I do love the idea of them having the same first name initials. I just want some feedback.

[name_f]Merisa[/name_f] has a pretty sound, but I think I’d spell it [name_f]Marissa[/name_f]. The latter looks more aesthetically pleasing, to me at least.

[name_f]Melanie[/name_f] is alright. It’s kind of dated to the 90’s in my mind, but according to NB, it came in #80 in 2015, so it’s still pretty popular.

Overall, if you have any other children, would you feel compelled to keep the M theme? All in all, it’s just a letter, and I wouldn’t let someone else’s picks sway your ideas about the names you’ve already settled on. That being said, if you find an M name you really like and can envision a child of yours having, then by all means, use it!

I wouldn’t say it sways me per se but it gives me something else to think about. It’s been really hard trying to find a name that seems to flow with [name_f]Majken[/name_f].

With [name_f]Majken[/name_f] I love [name_f]Merisa[/name_f]! I like the matching ‘M’, too. I would keep the spelling of [name_f]Merisa[/name_f], especially since I’m assuming it’s pronounced like [name_f]Marisa[/name_f] (mah-[name_f]REE[/name_f]-sah) and not [name_f]Marissa[/name_f] (mah-RISS-ah).

But… I also love [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]! It’s a darling, beautiful name. Very underrated.

I like [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. It just flows so beautifully. Plus, it’s not overly popular. [name_f]Merisa[/name_f] is pretty.

I’ve started making a list of M names and shockingly I really am starting to like [name_f]Mariska[/name_f]. [name_f]Majken[/name_f] and [name_f]Mariska[/name_f] two totally Cuban sounding names  my poor parents. With their accents this should be fun to watch.

I like [name_f]Merisa[/name_f] out of the two.

[name_f]Merisa[/name_f] is beautiful! One of my highschool class mates is named [name_f]Marisa[/name_f], and everyone calls her Ris, which is a cute little nickname!
