Please share your thoughts on [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]. We love the sound, meaning (“wonderful”), and the fact that it is an old name that to me feels unique but not too “out there.” We also really like [name_f]Mira[/name_f] as a possible nickname. However, it would be a bit of a leap for us because both of our families have pretty much stuck to very mainstream, popular names. I just keep finding myself coming back to it and hope some outside feedback will help us get a wider perspective. Would [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] sound made-up/like a mash-up to most people, or sound too frilly/silly, princess-y, or unprofessional for an adult?
If you keep coming back to it, absolutely use [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]. It’s a lovely name, imo. Princessy without being sickly sweet, elegant and delicate. Definitely professional enough for an adult. And hey, you don’t have to follow the trend in your family by using mainstream ones. Use the name you love.

I also think it’s similar enough in structure and sound to more mainstream names like [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] that it doesn’t sound out of place
I think it sounds like an old fashioned classic girls name. Spelling it [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] definitely stops it from looking sickly sweet ” beautiful I like it !!
I used to work with a lady called [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f], she was in her 50s, I have loved it since then.
As you say it’s underused but not too out there, I think it’s really pretty and has great nickname potential in [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and [name_f]Bel[/name_f]!
As previously mentioned, with today’s current favorites, I don’t think [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] will sound out of place, let alone made up. It’s a gorgeous name, and I hope you do use it!
