My husband and I found out I’m pregnant and these are the girls names we can agree on. I’ll take any critisism you want to throw at me, I want to know the good, bad and ugly of my choices. Thanks!

[name]Carmen[/name] – never liked this one. It just doesn’t sound pretty to me
[name]Danielle[/name] – same as [name]Christine[/name]
[name]Kelsie[/name] – seems like it will blend in with [name]Bailey[/name], [name]Hayley[/name], [name]Kayley[/name] and so on
[name]Sofia[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] but I prefer the [name]Sophia[/name] spelling. Very pretty
[name]London[/name] – I actually like this better on a boy but I’ve met a boy and a girl [name]London[/name]
[name]Candace[/name] – nms
[name]Noelle[/name] – pretty but I’ve always liked it better in the middle
[name]Willow[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] so pretty and lovely
[name]Astrid[/name] --[name]Love[/name] this one and I love the mythology behind it but a lot of people have a problem with the ass sound at the beginning
[name]Merida[/name] – don’t like it. It has a weird sound to it
[name]Alice[/name]-love
[name]Harper[/name]-do not like
[name]Carlie[/name]-like it spelled [name]Carly[/name]
[name]Christine[/name]-okay
[name]Rachel[/name]-lovely underused name

[name]London[/name]-masculine
[name]Candace[/name]-really like
[name]Noelle[/name]-love
[name]Willow[/name]-love
[name]Astrid[/name]-harsh, not very feminine, starts with ass
[name]Merida[/name]-neutral
Congratulations! There are a lot of nice names on this list; I’d say [name]Alice[/name] is my favorite, and I also like [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Sofia[/name], [name]Carmen[/name], and [name]Willow[/name]. I’m personally not a fan of [name]Danielle[/name], but that’s in part because of a bad association.
Another grab bag - you certainly have varied taste
[name]Alice[/name] - classic, love it
[name]Harper[/name] - very trendy, and not my taste
[name]Carlie[/name] - don’t like this at all
[name]Christine[/name] - pretty and classic
[name]Rachel[/name] - a bit dated. It feels like an 80s baby.
[name]Kira[/name] - Nice, but I don’t like the spelling
[name]Carmen[/name] - love it.
[name]Danielle[/name] - Again it’s an 80s name.
[name]Kelsie[/name] - spunky, makes me think tomboy.
[name]Sofia[/name] - beautiful
[name]London[/name] - my pick of the bunch, I love it
[name]Candace[/name] - don’t like the spelling, or nn [name]Candy[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] - a bit xmassy?
[name]Willow[/name] - lovely
[name]Astrid[/name] - one of my all time favourites, I love it
[name]Merida[/name] - maybe wait until you’ve seen Brave, because it’s going to be linked to that character for years to come.
[name]Alice[/name] – This is an old classic that will definitely work in the modern day. I love the literary associations, and I think it can be a very sweet name, but still has a dash of spunk.
[name]Harper[/name] – A very common trend that seems to be popular at the moment, and although I wasn’t much a fan of originally, I must admit that it has grown on me. Quite sweet really.
[name]Carlie[/name] – I’m not much a fan of this as all I see and hear is the masculine and dated [name]Carl[/name] with and -ie suffix tacked on.
[name]Christine[/name] – Not a bad name, but I do find it rather dated and bland.
[name]Rachel[/name] – A strong little classic.
[name]Kira[/name] – Sweet, with a bit of kick to it.
[name]Carmen[/name] – Exotic, but not too much so. I like her a lot.
[name]Danielle[/name] – See [name]Christine[/name]. I would prefer [name]Daniela[/name].
[name]Kelsie[/name] – Not liking this at all.
[name]Sofia[/name] – Gorgeous.
[name]London[/name] – As a middle name I could get on board with it, but as a first…it’s all place name.
[name]Candace[/name] – See [name]Christine[/name].
[name]Noelle[/name] – Sweet, yet strong.
[name]Willow[/name] – Whimsical and airy, yet grounded.
[name]Astrid[/name] – A little too old-fashioned for my tastes, but not a bad name at all.
[name]Merida[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it. The movie’ Brave, coming out soon has me adoring the name.
My personal favourites: [name]Carmen[/name], [name]Sofia[/name] and [name]Merida[/name].
[name]Alice[/name] - love this name!
[name]Harper[/name] - Despite the popularity, I think it’s a sweet name that could work well on a girl or a grown woman.
[name]Carlie[/name] - It feels dated to me.
[name]Christine[/name] - I’ve never liked this name, and I grew up with so many Christys during the 80s and 90s.
[name]Rachel[/name] - It’s a little plain but still a classic.
[name]Kira[/name] - I’ve never liked the sound of this one.
[name]Carmen[/name]
[name]Danielle[/name] - I dislike this. Again, reminds me of the 80s.
[name]Kelsie[/name] - Cute, almost bordering on cutesy.
[name]Sofia[/name] - Very popular, but a pretty name.
[name]London[/name] - Place names are not my style.
[name]Candace[/name] - Again, ditto 80’s comments.
[name]Noelle[/name] - Pretty. I don’t hear this very often.
[name]Willow[/name] - Pretty.
[name]Astrid[/name] - I like this, but it sounds like a dog’s name for some reason.
[name]Merida[/name] - New to me. I’m not sure on its pronunciation.
[i][name]Alice[/name] - Adorable!
[name]Harper[/name] - This is nice, but too popular. At least for me.
[name]Carlie[/name] - A bit out dated and was never really a fan. Also, this spelling doesn’t help.
[name]Christine[/name] - [name]Christine[/name] is nice, but very dated and not ready for a comeback. Would make a nice middle name however.
[name]Rachel[/name] - Not bad, but too 90’s for me.
[name]Kira[/name] - I really like [name]Kira[/name]! Although, it is my sisters name, so I may be a little biased. She did get the better name of the family however.
[name]Carmen[/name] - I find [name]Carmen[/name] to be a really pretty name!
[name]Danielle[/name] - Same comment as for [name]Christine[/name].
[name]Kelsie[/name] - Same comment as for [name]Rachel[/name].
[name]Sofia[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name]!
[name]London[/name] - I adore [name]London[/name]!
[name]Candace[/name] - Sounds snobby to me. Besides that, there’s just something about it…
[name]Noelle[/name] - I really like [name]Noelle[/name], although it’s become rather popular.
[name]Willow[/name] - [name]One[/name] of my old favourites! Very nice.
[name]Astrid[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name]!
[name]Merida[/name] - Not sure on the pronunciation but I think it’s a very nice name. Not my style however.
[name]Alice[/name] is beautiful, a timeless classic.
[name]Harper[/name] is going to be very trendy on girls but a handsome choice on a boy (I prefer it on a boy!).
[name]Carlie[/name], [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Christine[/name], [name]Danielle[/name] sound very dated.
[name]Kira[/name] is very trendy sounding, and too many alternative spellings; [name]Keira[/name], [name]Kiera[/name], [name]Ciera[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] etc. That just gets confusing.
[name]Carmen[/name] is beautiful but I prefer as a middle name.
[name]Kelsie[/name] and [name]Candace[/name] are very downmarket [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Sofia[/name] is better as [name]Sophia[/name], less confusion.
[name]Noelle[/name] is OK, doesn’t do much for me.
[name]Astrid[/name] and [name]Merida[/name] aren’t my style but not awful.
[name]Willow[/name] is lovely but a little trendy.
[name]Alice[/name]- nice, pretty, & classic
[name]Harper[/name]- I like it a lot
[name]Carlie[/name]- cute, like the name & spelling
[name]Christine[/name]- too ‘old’ and overdone for my style
[name]Rachel[/name]- same as christine
[name]Kira[/name]- I like it, not sure how it would sound as an adult though
[name]Carmen[/name]- it’s a nice name, just not my style
[name]Danielle[/name]- don’t care for this name, sounds too ‘old’ for me since I grew up with Christines, Rachels, Danielles, etc.
[name]Kelsie[/name]- I prefer [name]Kelsey[/name], and it is a bit popular to me, but still a nice name
[name]Sofia[/name]- love it but I prefer [name]Sophie[/name] or [name]Sophia[/name]…though it is REALLY popular where I am
[name]London[/name]- it’s ok, not my style though
[name]Candace[/name]- I’ve never really cared for this name
[name]Noelle[/name]- love it
[name]Willow[/name]- like it
[name]Astrid[/name]- I don’t care for this one…too ‘exotic?’ for me?
[name]Merida[/name]- same as [name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]- pretty, classic, simple, very neutral as in it works on any age group & any kind of girl.
[name]Harper[/name]- sounds like heartburn to me, too popular
[name]Carlie[/name]- nms, not very sophisticated to me, [name]Carla[/name] feels more substantial to me.
[name]Christine[/name]- a really underused classic…I don’t know why there aren’t many Christines or Christinas any more!
[name]Rachel[/name]- a lot of Rachels in my age range & area (late 20’s nyc) and it reminds me of the TV show Friends and the haircut “the [name]Rachel[/name]”…all of this makes it very 90’s to me.
[name]Kira[/name]- this is pretty and I think it travels well…as in it’s easily pronounced in so many cultures. I also like that it’s short and sassy.
[name]Carmen[/name]- I have been loving [name]Carmen[/name] lately! I think it’s sophisticated on an adult, but cute & surprising on a little kid or baby. I really love this name!!
[name]Danielle[/name]- I prefer [name]Dana[/name]…
[name]Kelsie[/name]- this name is really dated to me and has a shrill quality that I don’t like
[name]Sofia[/name]- this is pretty and classic, but too popular for my tastes
[name]London[/name]- I’m not into most place names (with rare exceptions). I would only use one as a mn and only if it had really special meaning to me.
[name]Candace[/name]- I think this is cute and underused.
[name]Noelle[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] this name and thought of using it, but I don’t know if it’s a winter baby only name? That is what made me veto it, but besides that I [name]LOVE[/name] it.
[name]Willow[/name]- nms…I like [name]Wilhelmina[/name] nn [name]Willa[/name] or [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Astrid[/name]- Not into the Ass in [name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Merida[/name]- this is pretty and different, makes me think of [name]Merina[/name]. Could run into problems with mistaking it for [name]Marina[/name]. My grandmother is [name]Mary[/name] and my husband’s is [name]Ida[/name] so this appeals to me!
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Christina[/name], [name]Kira[/name], [name]Carmen[/name] & [name]Noelle[/name] are my favorites…especially [name]Carmen[/name].

[name]Kelsie[/name] – I don’t think I like any “K” names- they feel dated to me
[name]Sofia[/name] – very pretty but quite popular
[name]London[/name] – I really hate ‘place’ names- I also live in [name]London[/name] so it just seems weird
[name]Candace[/name] – this sounds ugly to me
[name]Noelle[/name] – I really like this name, it’s beautiful
[name]Willow[/name] – not a fan of this name, don’t know why
[name]Astrid[/name] --love this name! It is gorgeous

favorites- [name]Alice[/name], [name]Astrid[/name], [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Christine[/name], and [name]Rachel[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]- [name]Love[/name]. Some people may connect it with twilight, but it is a classic. Personally I think of [name]Alice[/name] in Wonderland, I think it is adorable.

[name]Carlie[/name]- Kind of boring and blah to me
[name]Christine[/name]- its ok, nothing special
[name]Rachel[/name]- Nice and safe…

[name]Alice[/name] - Very pretty, I love it.
[name]Harper[/name] - It’s all right. I like it.

[name]Carmen[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it.

[name]Willow[/name] - Not a fan, sorry.
[name]Astrid[/name] - Seems much too old-fashioned.
[name]Merida[/name] - Not my favorite.
[name]Alice[/name]- [name]Just[/name] read your boy’s list! I plan on using this classic, beautiful name (or it’s variations) someday if I have a girl.
[name]Harper[/name]- Never been a fan. I know it’s getting popular.
[name]Carlie[/name]- Such a pretty, overwhelmingly girly name. I love it. i aslso don’t mind [name]Karlie[/name] either. Usually I favor a K or C spelling.
[name]Christine[/name]- Pretty. I prefer [name]Christine[/name] over [name]Christina[/name] by far.
[name]Rachel[/name]- Too common for me.
[name]Kira[/name]- This name is starting to pop up everywhere. You might want to avoid it if you want the name you pick to stand out. If you don’t mind, it’s fine.
[name]Carmen[/name]- This name keeps on being added and taken of my list. I love it. I just can’t find a name to pair it up with.
[name]Danielle[/name]- I love this name.
[name]Kelsie[/name]- It’s average. I feel only ‘meh’ about it.
[name]Sofia[/name]- I am sick of this name. It’s a shame too. I used to love this name, but it’s way overused.

[name]Noelle[/name]: I think this is such a pretty name
[name]Willow[/name]: like it
[name]Astrid[/name]: neutral
[name]Merida[/name]: don’t really like it
The names I like best from your list in order of preference:
[name]Astrid[/name] & [name]Carmen[/name]-[name]Both[/name] uncommon and striking the only issue with either is how they go with your last name.
[name]Rachel[/name] & [name]Alice[/name]-[name]Both[/name] classic and classy
[name]Noelle[/name]-Pretty but seems like a seasonal name for babies born around [name]Christmas[/name].
The others:
[name]Harper[/name]-Have never liked this and it’s very trendy
[name]Carlie[/name], Candance & [name]Danielle[/name]-[name]Feel[/name] dated
[name]Christine[/name]-A fine name just like others on your list more and the nn [name]Chris[/name] is so generic.
[name]Kira[/name], [name]Kelsie[/name], [name]Willow[/name] & [name]London[/name]-All are names that will fade in time and date stamp the child in a certain period.
[name]Sofia[/name]-Okay name but SO popular right now
[name]Merida[/name]-Very fairy princess, interesting but not sure how it will age.
